ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Authorities say a Florida pastor's daughter who was accidentally shot in the head in a church died Saturday at a hospital.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Hannah Kelley was pronounced dead at about 10:20 a.m. Saturday at Bayfront Medical Center. An autopsy is pending.

Kelley had been hospitalized since Feb. 12, when she was struck in the head by a bullet at Grace Connection Church in St. Petersburg, where her father Tim Kelley is pastor.

Investigators have said Moises Zambrana was showing his gun in a small closet to another church member interested in buying a firearm. The St. Petersburg Times reports ( ) that the other church member, Dustin Bueller, was Hannah Kelley's fiancee. http://bit.ly/w9KoLn

Zambrana reportedly removed the magazine from the Ruger 9mm weapon but did not know that a round was still in the chamber. The gun went off, firing a bullet through a wall. Kelley was struck in the head.

The sheriff's office says detectives are still investigating the shooting. No charges have been filed.

Why did this happen?

Why did Zambrana feel it was necessary to bring a handgun to church? If he and Bueller did nothing wrong, why did they hide in a closet? Why did Zambrana have a bullet already in the chamber? Why did he "forget" to remove it?

Also: Why did the police not arrest anyone? Why have no charges been filed? Why has this story been forgotten? Why is there no protest movement speaking out about this?

One final question: How many more must die before America wakes up?

How dare the police take this woman's guns away! Oh yeah, it's in California. In Florida she'd be a local hero.

Just stopping by to see if you are still having fun here... all by yourself. I am going out to do some target shooting and add one more day to my (47 years of gun ownership/ 17 years of carry without an accident or injury) safety record. Have fun...

One bullet hits three people, one of whom dies. It must have just been a coincidence, because as the NRA keeps reminding us, guns don't kill people.

When I first read she'd been shot I was aftaid this would be what was going to happen. Head wounds are tricky and the outlook on them isn't good in general. I'm still very sorry to read she's died! My condolances to her family.....

Well, I guess it was god's will, right? I mean, he is all powerful and could have prevented this I assume? I don't know why everybody is up in arms about the gun owner. If god wanted the girl to live, he (god) would have made sure the chamber was clear. Sounds a bit harsh, I guess; but, if you're a believer, you have to subscribe to this.

As an atheist myself, I wouldn't pretend to tell a believer how they should view this. Your notion is very similar to "inshallah", however.

An awful tragedy. Sounds like he wasn't handling the gun carefully or properly in any case, and it probably shouldn't have been going on in a church.
