Jeremy Lin wasn't the only one who made Madison Square Garden erupt on Sunday.

During a commercial break in the middle of New York's win over the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks, a Knicks fan knocked down a shot from half court and won a brand new car. Fans in the stands jumped out of their seats when the shot fell true and the sharp-shooting spectator immediately ran over and hugged Spike Lee, who was wearing Jeremy Lin's Harvard jersey at his regular courtside seat.

Yeah, I would have done the same thing.

Later, the fan, after realizing the unaffordable tax implications of his win, sold the car to Spike Lee.

Spike is a sad ringling brothers reject jumping up down begging to be noticed. Everybody knows you're there little man. Only thing missing is an orange fright wig and floppy shoes.

Spike needs a hug. I;ve never seen anyone with such a perpetually hangdog expression.

Before Lin, Spike was the most famous person associated with the NY Knicks.

two exceptional schools. Spike has not seen a Knicks championship since his teen years, since the Cavs are going nowhere, I hope he gets one now in his mid 50s.
