Matisyahu Performs 'One Day' With Boy Battling Cancer (VIDEO)

Matisyahu

When Luke Weber joined Matisyahu on stage to sing "One Day" -- a song that calls for hope -- he brought the lyrics to life.

Luke is fighting cancer and for a chance at childhood. Chai Lifeline, an organization that offers programs and financial support to children battling life-threatening diseases, helped Luke in his fight when it made one of his biggest dreams come true.

The organization arranged for Luke to perform the Jewish reggae star's "One Day" at the Tarrytown Music Hall in New York on Thursday.

"Sometimes in my tears I drown/but I never let it get me down," Luke sang to a cheering audience. "So when negativity surrounds/I know some day it'll all turn around."

Luke's parents credit Chai Lifeline with giving their son a chance to feel like a regular kid.

"They continue to amaze me,” Luke's mom, Eliza, told Jewishmom.com. "It is because of them that Luke is not a victim of cancer. He is the happiest, most cup-half-full kid we know."

Wow, that was so moving.

I think that it is incredibly kind of Matisyahu to be so generous with the boy. I was touched at the way he hugged the child, too.

And the boy? He has a lovely voice, and the most beautiful, serious face. I hope that he prevails in his fight against cancer and grows up and lives a long, healthy life.

The Good News page on HP is truly my favorite.

All good wishes to that lovely boy and thanks to Matisyahu...this was really special.

Namaste Matisyahu!! THANK YOU for this wonderful video; although I did shed a tear, it was of Love & Hope-two essentials of life that often seem to be endangered these days.
I pray for the best for this inspirational young man!

That was wonderful!!! Great song! Luke really knows those words! He and Matisyahu sang so well together-sometimes at the same time, sometimes echoing the other's words--and Matisyahu also let Luke sing and shine by himself, and even stepped aside so Luke was performing by himself! I'm glad Luke will be able to watch this over and over and relive that experience over and over.

these children have to face a killer at their young age. i lost one of my best friends to cancer and my neice died of brain cancer about a year ago. i don't know how these children face a killer and still enjoy life and be so cheerful. with all the money and time devoted to a cure for cancer. they still don't have a better chance for a cure. there are thousands of lukes out there.

This is great to see. Sometimes I forget that the good people are out there too. Get enough of them together and the world will move.
