Ice Skating FAILS (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 02/21/2012 3:19 pm Updated: 02/22/2012 3:19 pm

Ice skating is a difficult and, in some cases, incredibly painful activity. It takes everyone awhile to get used to the ice, and you can guarantee that there will be a few awful spills along the way. Don't believe us? Well, we have evidence.

This collection of ice skating fails will make you rethink ever going out on the ice again. Under the assumption that all of these people were ok, we can safely enjoy their bodies slamming mercilessly into the hard, unforgiving ice. But take a lesson from their pain, and either be careful or have a camera rolling next time you strap on your skates.

Not very PC to display the misfortunes of others. Someone's feeling might get hurt.

When I was a kid (born in 1950) we used to have this large pond where a peat bog had caught on fire in the early 40's and burned for weeks. It left a wonderful pond for winter skating, and with the cold winters we had back then , there was always nice ice, and you could even at times drive a tractor out on it to clear it. We used to have skating parties and up to 40 kids might show up from the 2 room school, from little kids all the way to high school. We 'd play crack the whip where the biggest boys would pull the line and get going real fast and then stop and turn. Then we would play Red Rover where they would choose up teams and call for somebody to come over from the visiting team and try to break through the line. The only time anybody got hurt was my older brother got his nose broke in a hockey game when he took a puck off it. We used to take an old tire and start it on fire then everybody would try to gather wood out of the nearby woods. It was great.Once in a while a couple of the older boys brought a little hooch that they drank, but it wasn't   any great trouble.

I grew up in maine, we used to play ice hockey thru the branches that grew up thru the ice, when I was in the 5th grade I was skating by myself (it was very rural) and a girl came along who was in the sixth grade, skating a while she then grabbed me and kissed me unexpectedly, - I ran home crying to my mother - I also later in my life remember visiting arizona and being perplexed they had a skating rink inside of a mall

I grew up in maine and there were hardly any blacks there but neither did anyone ever seem racist, and many people died in the civil war from there, many of my relatives in fact - so I think it is more of a cultural and weather zone thing, I also never witnessed much racism when I was in the navy either, they seemed to make things very professional - yet as I 've grown older and moved around it seems for someone like me that I am seeing more racism now than in the past, with all these police beatings and worse, the huge racist structured prison system - very strange to me, I had hoped this guy obama was going to be a catalyst for real changes in society and have been terribly let down by him yet I see no better alternatives right now

When I first saw the title, I thought this video would be funny. But perhaps I am getting old because the only things that came to mind were the potential wrist breaks from bracing for the falls to the life ending injuries from slamming your head on the ice. Not cool.

ha yes it is, I've personally dug thru it recently, for I had not removed the stakes from the garden yet so it could be plowed under in the spring as per our community garden rules and I had had to put off pulling them up in the fall as I was very busy, had to use a crow bar and more, it's about 4 inches deep atleast

I prefer salt water sports (liquid, that is). Although hitting the reef at Tres Palmas or Gas Chambers in Puerto Rico can have much worse consequences than a couple bruises

Nah... the point was to force you to turn off your sound and scroll down until the obnoxious 30 second ad finished and you could find out if it was worth waiting for the skating...
