Sh*t Politicians Say To Latinos (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/21/2012 6:15 pm Updated: 02/23/2012 4:35 pm

We've seen a lot of these "sh*t" x person says to y person videos, but we've got to admit, this one's actually pretty good.

It's got everything we love. Politicians speaking (or trying to speak) Spanish, politicians contradicting themselves, and an early eighties Arnold Schwarzenegger.

What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below.

Politicians forget that they're not only talking to the people in that room and they get carried away with the need to pander in that moment, to the faces they're looking at.

But, when it comes to the average gringo, never mind the clueless politician, s/he has no idea how to approach Latinos because they are raised on a steady diet of stereotypes and misinformation. Because we also live in such a segregated country, we don't actually live next door to each other, to know each other authentically. Just the occasional visit to the Mexican restaurant....que pena.

Funny how at the debates, because they are trying to one up each other on who is stricter on immigration, they speak about having ballots only in English. Yet they put out SPANISH language ads. Hypocritical much?

Kudos to @UnivisionNews for posting this! I agree, I am getting tired of them, but once in a while, one shows up that is really good. They nailed it. So many good things about it: W with "la idioma," the Newt ghetto language and the lame apology, ARRRNOLD, Cain in Miami and the Obama section was powerful. Point made. Well-done. How it should be done. Brilliant.

Politicians should not talk in Spanish if they don't know it. Everyone can see through it.
