Vanity Fair & Juicy Couture Present The Most Random Red Carpet Ever (PHOTOS)

In the midst of the chicness that was London Fashion Week's front rows and parties, Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture decided to consummate their unlikely marriage with a gala and a very bizarre red carpet.

We're all in favor of the seemingly odd pairing of the high-minded magazine and the tracksuit-peddling brand. But the "Vanities" party, thrown by Shailene Woodley and Vanity Fair West Coast Editor Krista Smith as a pre-Oscars celebration, brought out the most random assortment of stars in some rather befuddling outfits.

Olivia Munn showed up looking more matronly than we've ever seen her, Rashida Jones almost forgot her pants, Hayden Panettiere threw on a muumuu, Marcia Gay Harden appeared to be drowning in something drapey and Jessica Chastain's chest looked like it was gasping for air -- and hers wasn't even the strangest bust of the night, what with Dania Ramirez dangerously close to a wardrobe malfunction.

All in all, it has us slightly nervous for Sunday's Oscars. If the Academy Awards red carpet is anything like this, making a "Best Dressed" list will be harder than... well, explaining last night's "Vanities" red carpet. Check out the photos (and attempt to pick a favorite look) below.

This article is absolutely ridiculous. I was scrolling through most of these pictures trying to work out why they're bizarre. I think you mixed up the pictures with the title HP. Either that or you mixed up the sports journalists with the style journalists...

Wow. I know who like 2 of these people are.

My advice, shoes ladies. Get decent, pretty shoes that FIT properly. That is my only wish. Go for broke with your flair for dresses, but pull it together with the shoes.

Ali Larter stood alone as nicely dressed. All of the descriptions here were right on. And what was UP with Ms. Ramirez. That is the most lop-sided implant job I've ever seen. Sad, really. Time to replace.

i dint get what all of the fuss is about.some of them were bad, yes, but thats to be expected everywhere. i thought most of them looked fine. Olivia Munn looked gorgious. :)

I don't see what's so bizarre about this. It wasn't an awards show- it was an event. Which means people usually wear what they feel like wearing and some don't use a stylist. There was nothing particularly weird about any of the looks.

So, when Olivia Munn dresses with class, she's suddenly "matronly?" I think that's the best I've seen her look in a long time.

And nothing is more muumuu than Marcia Gay Harden's dress. Hayden Panatierre was a bit matronly, but at least you could see her shape compared to Harden's disaster.

Munn looked like she should have taken her seat in an oversized bud vase. I agree that the muumuu description fits Marcia Gay Harden's dress to a tee. Pantierre looked ridiculously matronly--fit for a 100-year old woman, or a 100-year old woman's older sister.
