Three Members Of Congress Receive Threatening Letters

Congress Letters Threats

ANDREW TAYLOR   02/22/12 05:02 PM ET  AP

WASHINGTON — The Senate's top law enforcement officer says congressional offices have received threatening letters containing a suspicious powdery substance.

Sergeant-at-Arms Terrance Gainer said in a memo to Senate offices that the letters were sent to three state and home district offices and that the substance was tested and found to be harmless.

Gainer said the author of the letters said that additional letters would be sent and that some of these could contain actual harmful material.

Gainer said Capitol authorities were working closely with federal and local law enforcement in the investigation.

The letters were postmarked Portland, Ore.

SO, OK... What are these threatening letters? Tell us what was SAID in the letters. Yes, there was a white substance that turned out to be non harmful. BUT WHAT WAS SAID IN THE LETTERS?
Just more hyped up headlines from liberal media, needing attention.

This will be popular with the unemployment and working voters but who will pay for it were bankrupt. I think we need to reduce spending to bring the budget in line? I started unemployment to smothe out the transition from one job to another but now it apears to be a bloated permadent public assistance program

These bright lights are probably sending the letters to themselves, and after "due investigation" it will be discovered that the letters came from either Syria or Iran, whoever is next on the hit list.

It's not surprising that something like this is happening considering the number of idiotic bills that some of these people introduce and get signed into laws.

The dumbest quotes of the century.

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett has adopted a stance on unemployment that is sure to infuriate many, arguing that it stimulates the economy because people who receive unemployment checks are going out and spending them, reports The Weekly Standard.

OK everyone, lets fix the economy, give up your job and draw unemployment. Its the new Obama strategy. Roflmao

Look it up........... Valerie Jarrett: Unemployment Stimulates the Economy
Important: Do You Support Pres. Obama's Re-Election Now!

Valerie's statement is true. Unemplyment benefits go right back into the economy because recepients have to use the money to live. However middle class good salaries do even more to stimulate the economy because middle class people use their salaries to live on so the salaries which are larger than umemployment benefits help the economy even more.

Now what doesn't help the economy are tax breaks for the rich because they DO NOT put that extra money into the economy. They already have enough to live on that goes into the economy. The additional money they get goes overseas into tax havens etc. It never hits the economy. They do not hire more, they do not increase the wages of their employees and they try very hard not to give employees benefits. Check out their past record, that's what has happened to all the Bush tax cuts they got. So they actually hurt the economy by taking more money out of it. Important: Do You Support the Election of Republicans Now!

Your second paragraph is so laughable I can hardly believe you actually believe it. You have gotten the leftist mantra down pat though. I am more in favor of supporting Republicans now more than ever after reading this. The mentality of liberals never ceases to amaze me.

What, you were asleep for the 8 years Bush almost destroyed the economy and for the 30 years the middle class was being decimated?

NOW you wake up?

Mary, the fear for my country started the day GWB became the GOP pres. nominee. I actively campaigned against him, -- and I'm a Republican! My fear for America's future began with him and continues because of the Tea Party lunacy.
07:53 PM on 02/23/2012
I feel like sending a threatening letter to most politicians:

"If you don't get off your butts and actually do something for the country, instead of rewarding yourselves like royalty (separate health care, separate retirement after only a few years, ability to give yourself raises whenever you want, etc. etc), then I'm going to vote against every incumbent, regardless of party, anytime I can."

I only wish a few hundred million voters felt the same!

Too many are too ignorant to see through the political BS fed to them....
07:17 AM on 02/24/2012
I'll be voting the same way because I know they're not going to do something for the country. Ah jes' luv politicians!

The embattled Media Matters for America has not responded to a series of reports documenting the organization’s purported unusual tactics, including compiling a de facto enemies list; announcing an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel; and reportedly seeking to investigate the personal lives of reporters and news personalities.

The information came amid reports White House staffers held regular meetings and even a weekly conference call with Media Matters.

Link? Proof? Fox news doesn't count.

You people that watch nothing but liberal media never get real news. Not if it contains any dirty deeds and lies perpertrated by liberal liars which there are a never ending supply. Just research online and you will find all these reports. Alan Dershowitz by the way is a devoted liberal. One of many links at the bottom

In a radio interview today, liberal Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz vowed he will begin a campaign to personally make the Media Matters for American controversy into a reelection issue for President Obama.

A series of reports has exposed the embattled Media Matters’ purported illicit tactics, including compiling a de facto enemies list; announcing an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel; and reportedly seeking to investigate the personal lives of reporters and news personalities.

The information came amid reports White House staffers held regular meetings and even a weekly conference call with Media Matters.

Dershowitz took particular issue with Media Matters coverage of Israel, including rhetoric from Media Matters Action Network senior fellow M.J. Rosenberg, who is known for his extreme anti-Israel views.

I'm guessing these letters were sent to republicans, since they weren't named. If these letters were sent to democrats, we would have 15,000 comments about how violent republicans are. I also believe the author would have mentioned it if the congressmen/women who recieved the letters were democrats.

how long does it take this sh*t to take effect?
08:48 PM on 02/23/2012
Yeah, I figured they were sent to baggies too because they are the ones talking like fools lately.
10:20 PM on 02/24/2012
Actually, they were mainly sent to Democrats and liberal news media.

At the time this was written, the author didn't know who received it.

Here is the latest HP article.

When they sent the anthrax letters to Democratic senators back in 2001, it only took a few letters to make everybody shake in their boots and vote whichever way Bush wanted. That's how we got those nasty things like the Patriot Act.

What needs to be mailed to these people in Congress is PINK SLIPS ...
04:54 PM on 02/23/2012
lets all remember this come nov, no sense in complaining about congress if everybody just checks to reelect these losers only we can give them the pink slip talk is cheap
07:23 PM on 02/23/2012
blkrvr - I know that 'talk is cheap' is a reality and that the possibility of ALL Congress being 'pink-slipped' is an idea about as fruitful as an orange tree in Antarctica ... My comment only more firmly establishes that all computers come with a SARCASM font ....

Throwing out the bums just to get new bums in there is the problem...The system is antiquated and needs to to be revamped with new checks and balances to limit corruption and new ideas to get legislation through...
