Costume Designers Guild Awards 2012: Rooney Mara, Chloe Moretz Turn Out To Honor Design (PHOTOS)

Monochrome ruled the red carpet last night at the Costume Designers Guild Awards, where stars like Rooney Mara, Chloe Moretz and Kate Beckinsale came out to celebrate a year's achievement in really cool costuming.

Awards for costume design were given out in seven categories, and top winners included "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “W.E.,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” “Glee,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “Downton Abbey." Kate Beckinsale was awarded the Lacoste Spotlight Award.

And on the red carpet, the stars kept it low-key. (So as not to compete with the award-winners?)

Rooney Mara pleased us by wearing a color (!) in her plum low-cut dress, and Kate Beckinsale looked elegant in a long blue gown. Several celebs -- including host Jane Lynch -- opted for solid red frocks.

But it was teenage Chloe Moretz who piqued our interest with the pink streaks in her hair and python-print shoes.

You know it's all good and glamorous, but why don't they wear regular cloth ou can reuse and not only wear once. When do you ever wear these dresses. Just once, why don't they onate that money and use regular street cloth like we do, you can still look beautifula nd made up.

I think that dress is so chic! Great color, and sexy but not TOO much. She has the right size boobs to be able to wear it, not all hangin out. Looks great!

UGH I know. I love the dress, but I literally only saw her smile once- I think on Jay leno or something. I feel like maybe she's holding out until her promotion/run of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is totally done to go with the character. (half kidding)
