Dog Whose Leg Was Broken By Burglars Recovers Marvelously (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/22/2012 2:06 pm Updated: 02/22/2012 2:26 pm

This oh-so-sweet video shows one dog's journey from tragedy to triumph.

After having her leg broken by apparently heartless burglars, this pup slowly moves from her sullen, Sarah McLachlan video phase to a happy, excitable pooch running all over the place.

"I had to bend reality a little bit so the video would make sense," the dog's owner says in the YouTube video description. "For example, she had to have her leg rewrapped about a hundred times because she kept chewing the bandages off. Basically, though, this is accurate."

Full disclosure, the dog's owner is a friend of this Huffington Post editor.

WATCH the inspiring transformation in the video above.

I hope they caught the burglars and charged them with animal cruelty on top of stealing!

I'd love to see these scummy burglars get the Bob Barker treatment! Just for starters! Poor doggie, happy she's all well & having fun once again. I'm a old marine, if I ever see anyone hurt a animal. They be given the Al Bundy smack down good old U.S.M.C. style! They feel "the Force" of my 6-3" 270lbs Marine boot in their gaboo!

Dogs give people so much love unconditionally, and we treat them so badly. Somebody needs to do to those burglars what they did to this dog. Except break both their legs and arms.

Dogs are at the top of the food chain. They even trained us to feed 'em and clean up after them while they nap. ;)

At 6 bn km, it's mostly small stuff.

Meaning no offense to dog lovers, but I think it is house cats who occupy the top of the food chain.

Consider:

Some people actually expect their dogs to do work.

Some people try to train their dogs.

Cats, in general, just kind of do their own thing, except they also expect us to pay their bills and pet them at times that are convenient for them.

I'm not really a vindictive person by nature, but, if the cowards who did this were ever caught I'd like to see them staked to the ground spread Eagle and then introduce the dog to them to see if he remembers who they are.

All in the name of aiding the Police in their investigation of course.

The banjo music fits perfectly. Glad he is ok. Burglars will get what is coming to them, just a matter of time....

Hope those bozo's that did it go to the wrong house and find out it has a Mastiff or Saint Bernard the hard way. Those types of dogs aren't famous for it, but they can really 'ruff' a person up.
