Kristin And Kayla: Dad Takes Adorable Photos Of Daughters For Grandmother

Kristin And Kayla

It's not every day that a little girl can transform into Super Mario, ride a flying bicycle, or let down her hair like Rapunzel (and then have her sister swing from it). But when your dad's a photographer and you're adorable, the magical becomes possible.

According to The Daily Mail, Jason Lee was inspired to start documenting his daughters' growth when his mom was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2006. He wanted her to be able to see her granddaughters without catching any of their kid germs -- and so, his photoblog was born.

Eight-year-old Kristin and five-year-old Kayla are a "never-ending source of ideas" when it comes to Lee's creative process, he says. Their mutual love for Justin Bieber became fodder for a Valentine's Day shoot, Kayla's playing with a drumstick at the dinner table turned into a jam session, and one time, they both just got to be a Super Mario Brother.

As for Lee's mother, she was delighted with his project and continues to follow their family life online. "I just hope that people enjoy the images as much as I enjoy taking them," Lee told The Huffington Post. "Maybe reading about their antics and stories can bring a smile to someone's face."

Those were the cutest children's picture I have seen. Grandma is one lucky person.

Terrific! And the kids are so clearly having a whale of a time as their dad takes the shots. What a wonderful use of photoshop too .... I've long been wary of photoshop manipulation for anything other than advertising. The horrendous color enhancements which even fine photographers are relying on more and more for "effect". It seems sort of cheating somehow.

But Lee is using the techniques in a wonderfully innovative way ... absolutely inspiring! He's creating a whole new genre of photography .... one which perfectly blends technique with artistry .... Love them all ..... the photos, Lee and both those beautiful girls!

The girls look soo happy and the fun and joy is reallly captured in each shot. A creative father, a blessed grandmother, and two of the happiest looking kids I've seen in awhile!

What a wonderful story, and what imaginative photos. When I read the headline, I thought I was going to read a sad, tear jerking article. What a change of pace. The taking of these photos will be very memorable for those kids, and looking at them as they grow will bring memories of great love and happiness.

The pictures are beautifully done and my prayers go out to his mother. The post led to his photography blog, where he has even more stunning photos of Kayla & Kristen. It's amazing how a photo documentary can express so much love and establish great memories for his little ones.

That's so cute, they look like they are having a blast. I'm sure they will appreciate this when they are older. Good luck to that family dealing with that disease.
