Rick Santorum reminds me a great deal of Scott Walker. They share similar defects, blind spots, prejudices, rigid political instincts. The GOP wants Santorum to do to the country what Walker is trying to do in Wisconsin. Expect similar blowback.

Here's my practical definition of an ideologue. An ideologue will ignore any and all evidence that is contrary to their views, only recognize the eveidence that supports them, and even make up evidence to support them.

By that definition, Santorum is the biggest ideologue to get this close to a major party nomination in my lifetime.
