Elisabeth Shue Joins The 'CSI' Team (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/23/2012 5:15 am Updated: 02/23/2012 10:33 am

Elisabeth Shue joined the investigative team just in time for one of their strangest cases on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (Wed., 10 p.m. EST on CBS). At first, it involved a missing wife and a missing house. Then, the wife showed up and the house was discovered in the desert. Enter a sister, a brother and ultimately a biological father to two of the siblings -- all of them fueled by nothing but anger -- and the situation only got more and more complex the deeper the team dug.

Eventually, they uncovered the sister's long-lost father dead and buried in the walls of the house. The father of the boys had killed him decades ago. The family continued to fight over the house and who would take ownership of it until Julie "Finn" Finlay (Shue) came at it with a chainsaw, saying she'd be happy to divide the house for them.

It was a powerful and eccentric debut, rather in line with D.B. Russell's own introduction to the team when he was found lying in place of a dead body at a crime scene. It makes sense that both of them have an interesting take on their job when it's revealed that they have history. Finn worked for Russell in Seattle, and was fired by him there as well. The two have history, and at the same time a clear chemistry between them on the job. That should help make her injection into the ensemble of the series go down a little smoother.

See how Finn fits in as "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" continues Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.

100% better with Danson and adding Shue was smart for CBS. The show has gone from boring with that horrible Fishburn and Marg to basically a new show. The story lines are increasingly getting much better as well.

I loved CSI, loved it until Ted Dansen took over -sorry he is a great actor but not in this role.
He isn't pulling it off at all. Series will not make it unless they bring original director or
Fishburn.

I don't know who she is but she sure is pretty : )

I have always liked Elizabeth Shue and welcome her presence on CSI. If they are going to bring someone in after MH, Elizabeth Shue is a good fit. Besides, she has done some amazing work in movies, so why not give television a try?

I have followed Elizabeth Shue's career from The Karate Kid thru Leaving Las Vegas. Her TV career from Melrose Place thru CSI. With Ted Danson, CSI takes on a completely new persona. I always thought that Petersen & Hilgenberg were boring. I find Danson & Shue a breath of fresh air. Good luck, guys.

I think it is unjust and disrespectful that her name appears in the opening credit before actors who have been on the show since the pilot or for many years. Ted Danson I can understand, but Elisabeth Shue? I think not.

Gee, we sure are late with the news regarding CSI's most recent cast member. Elisabeth Shue joined the cast last week.

Meanwhile........

I've liked her in the two episodes in which she's appeared. And she's hotter than ever, looks-wise.

I'm liking Elisabeth Shue in this role so far. Her character has more personality.
