Never Liked It Anyway: Website Sells Objects From Breakups (VIDEO)

WATCH: Website Lets Brokenhearted Sell Items They 'Never Liked Anyway'

Why let that tear-stained, boxed-up wedding dress in the garage go to the moths when you can cash in on it?

A new start-up site, NeverLikedItAnyway.com, allows the brokenhearted to sell the objects that remain after a split -- think wedding gowns, rings and more -- while venting about their exes.

The site was launched in December 2011 by 28-year-old Annabel Acton after her own breakup left her with two unused plane tickets and gifted artwork she no longer wanted.

Acton browsed the web's breakup site offerings and was surprised to find only "depressing blogs" and "miserable advice from relationship experts." She said she wanted her site to put a positive, profitable spin on breaking up.

"Starting the site was an opportunity to come in with a voice that was a bit cheeky and irreverent and kind of fun," the New York-based business consultant told Huffington Post Divorce. "It just kind of reminds everyone that this does happen to everyone, because when you do break up, you kind of feel like you're the only one in the world who's gone through it."

Aside from the listings, the site also features a companion blog called The Juice, where the dumped can vent about their splits, and a Moving On Manual full of reader-submitted tips on getting past the breakup. Action said she's most proud of the support-group vibe fostered by the site.

"The community is really lovely. If someone is interested in buying your item, there's usually some kind of email exchange: 'I'm interested in buying your item, but I just want to tell you I'm so sorry -- I read your story and I've been there,'" she said. "I was really worried that people were going to use the site for naming and shaming, but people have really gotten the intent of it."
