Octavia Spencer: 'I'm Going to Get My Boobs Lifted' After The Oscars

No matter whether she wins or loses, Best Supporting Actress nominee Octavia Spencer is going to treat herself after the 2012 Academy Awards.

"I'm going to get my boobs lifted. That's going to be my first gift," she told Parade magazine. "I figured going into my forties I want my boobs where they were when I was 17."

The 41-year-old star, who has already won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and a SAG Award for her role in "The Help," told the magazine she plans to go under the knife after next fall.

"[I'm getting the surgery post-Oscars] because right after the Oscars I start a Diablo Cody movie. We're taping out of the country for four months so I wouldn't be back here until about August," she said. "So I want to do this around November. Then that way I could just relax until January."

The actress hasn't been shy when it comes to talking about her body, and at the end of January, she revealed that she was trying to drop 15 pounds. Spencer later claimed comments that she didn't feel healthy or as valuable because of her weight, relayed to People magazine, were misconstrued.

Spencer turned to her Facebook page to clear up the quotes that were taken out of context. "I am NOT WORRYING ABOUT MY WEIGHT! I AM NOT TRYING TO CONFORM TO an unrealistic model of beauty," she wrote. "I AM however being proactive in being the healthiest I can be. And before you ask, NO, awards season is not the reason. I've been doing this for the past 10 years because it took that long to gain the weight! Right now, believe it or not, I'm pretty damn healthy! 20 LBS (max) is all I intend to lose."

"I want my boobs to look like they did when I was 17" - I do to Octavia. Go for it. Go for it even if you don't get the Oscar. I hate my huge 55 year old boobs too! You got the money - go for it!

And this is the way to shed those 15 unwanted pounds. Not by going to the gym (or hiring a personal trainer) and dedicating herself physically and mentally to "puttting in the work" (and pushing away from the table) in order to get those 15 pounds or more off, improving your overall life; physical, internal and mental health but instead go under the knife and reduce her breast size.

And what'e next after that? Facelift? Liposuction? Lap band surgery?

That's just being plain lazy because what she needs is a personal commitment (an not to her plastic surgeon) exercise/food plan that will ensure all these thing happen and with all the Oscar buzz surrounding her, it's all good but she needs to take care of her body and don't loook at the Hollywood machine that keeps telling you how to look and have you forever changing your physical appearances and in her case, her current weight probably gets her many roles and now that she in the spotlight (after the Oscars, who knows?) she's following the pattern of A list stars having to fit in based on the competition for these movie/TV roles.

OooZzz... You said a mouthful...

You make some valid points...but see, when you are in the Hollywood mix, going to the parties and hobnobbing with these stars, you find yourself looking at yourself...and comparing yourself to other actresses....she's in white Hollywood that look nothing like her....

She may be contemplating future roles that she may or may not be able to play...hell, she can't keep playing a maid for the rest of her life...and the "image" of a maid (according to Hollywood is fat, black, frumpy and dumb).....so I can see why she would want to make some changes....

Let's face it....size 16 and up with a whole lotta butt is not Hollywood.

Ms. Spencer is dealing with some "self issues"...and she may not be thinking right or may not know "within" herself how to go about fixing those issues.....She has to the resources so what's the problem....Going to the gym.... hiring a fitness trainer....hiring a chef to assist you in a proper diet is the best way to go....she can afford it...instead of surgery.......

Understand what you're saying.

"The Help" is the door opener; she along with Viola Davis been racking up the awards before the Oscars and Davis in contention for best actress alongside Meryl Streep and Octavia Spencer may get best supporting actress.

The Hollywood hobnobbing; hors d'oeuvres eating/wine drinking/butt kissing (kiss the ring) social/political aspect of the business necessary (like it or not) to get noticed for those rare parts that's so heavily/subjectively scutinized.

In Spencer's case, HAS EXTREME OVERALL TALENT' that many pencil thin White actress don't have compared to her and IMO, she gets her health together naturally without surgery/improve her acting craft as a very strong actress seriously compared to anybody, IMO, roles will come because with her specific body type (endomorph: carries fat) with weight loss, she's not gonna be pencil thin or look like Halle Berry who IMO, virtually disappeared since she won the Oscar.

They wanted Beyonce. She flamed out/now Paula Patton seems to be the "pretty" Black actress in demand with no talent compared to these two ladies.

Besides Spencer/her issues, I watched Viola Davis discussing Hollywood with a panel of White actors/actresses (Geroge Clooney included) and she compalined that "she's too Black and not pretty enough" in Hollywood almost crying on Clooney's shoulders.

Work on improving your overall talent that you're known for/stop worrying about "being pretty".

I loved Octavia in "The Help", and I'm rooting for her to take home an Oscar. That being said, I think she's being a little too open. Some things are better kept private, if only as a matter of taste.

Am I the only one thinking that she probably should get a breast reduction first? Not for cosmetics but that can't be good for her back all that she is supporting up top. Her bra deserves a Best Supporting award too.
