I think it must be a relief to get out of a marriage where your partner is controlling and domineering. You may start out as 'best friends', but eventually the dynamics change. Freedom is a wonderful feeling. I can empathize with Jon, he looks so much happier.

Too bad Jon waited so long to stand up for himself with Kate. Maybe if he had slowly worked up to, "You are driving me crazy, I want out." the kids would not be split between two parents that they love so very much. Perhaps, if he had acted as a man instead of a man-child things would be different. Yes, Kate is...difficult, but, this is a lesson, If you do not like the way your spouse is behaving, gently share that with them in private and do not demasculate your man in public(or at all). Better yet, do not put you kids on tv week in and week out.

Yes, cheating is wrong however, I think that it may have taken Jon's cheating to get Kate's attention. I get that he's immature, but she liked that about him, and he liked her "in-charge" attitude. However, he did not want more kids after the first two, he did not want to have them be on tv after the first special. And, he would probably would have like for her not to keep his testes in her back pocket. I say that if the marrriage had a chance, it would have required Jon being a man, and standing up to her. But, somehow, I suspect she would never change.

Of course he loves being a single Dad. He hasn't been a dad at all. Doesn't pay Child Support as ordered,he is just looking to get back in the limelight and do anything to get some attention. He doesn't even deserve the space he is taking up on here. L-O-S-E-R, what happened to your mistress, she dump you too?

I know that it is awful not to pay child support, however the kids should not be punished for their dad's failures. I hope the kids are not privy to the struggles between the parents. Seriously, kids love their parents and do not need to know the sordid details. It destroys one's self-esteem. Also, time to sell the estate and live in a house that is in an appropriate price range. You know, live within their means...

I only watched a few of the episodes of John/kate plus 8 and I was so disgusted on how Kate treated her husband, I wanted to reach through the screen and shake her. He is better off without her, she was verbally abusive and NO ONE deserves that!

I am sure he does, he gets to have fun with the kids and then dump them back with their Mother. What he does isn't parenting, he is just a play date they go on. Mom does all the work and has all the responsability.

oh yes. the man who went after immature woman and posed with them and they dumped him. oh and don't forget how he took money out of the savings account that was supposed to go towards the kids, bills etc. great role model there, those kids are better with the mother, no matter what you think.

I never watched the show or care what you have read in the tabloids, and I really feel sorry for you that you take this reality show so serious. All I know is what I have seen of her in interviews and how even after their very public divorce the women continued to exploit her children when I feel it would have been in their best interests at the time to work on the family issues and protect them.
She comes across as a very angry, manipulative, needy, whiny and immature. A total wack job!

last I heard HE walked out on his wife and kids not she. I think she has control issues but she is as good a parents as anybody else. At least she hustled to make a decent living for her kids and can now pay for their college education.

True, I have seen her interviewed and comments she has made and she seems a little angry, sometimes abusive and I wonder how her children fair with her moods at times. She certainly has promoted herself and has had several surgeries to complete her look, just makes me wonder if it's more about her looks then the kid's welfare?
