The South Beach Wine & Food Festival kicked off Thursday, but eating on the beach doesn't bring everything to a stop -- not in this city, anyway. Spend the weekend wrapped up in the arts with amazing dance, music and more, get your shop on, and enjoy the biggest night in the movie industry. Here's what you're doing this weekend:

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Friday through Sunday

Tickets: $20 to $120

The famed dance company leaps its way to Miami, intertwining American American culture with modern American dance.

Movie Nights at Fairchild: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"
Friday, 6:30 p.m.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Tickets: $8 and up, free for kids 5 and under

Reminisce under the stars with this '80s cult classic of a mischievous teen who gives himself the day off from high school. Let it get you motivated: as Ferris would say, what aren't you going to do this weekend?



Everglades Bluegrass Festival
Friday through Sunday

Tickets: $25 and up for adults.

If the sounds of banjos and mandolins strike your fancy, park your camper, pull up a lawn chair, and sway to the tunes.

Restless: Recent Acquisitions from the MAM Collection
Saturday May 6
Miami Museum of Art
Tickets: $8 adults

With an impending move, MAM is showing off newly acquired work from modern and contemporary masters such as Morris Louis and Fred Wilson alongside emerging artists such as Nicolas Lobo and George Sanchez-Calderón.

His glam Florida Room design might have just been made over at the Delano, but Lenny Kravitz' tunes are forever. And even if you have zero dancing ability, this pair's funky, groovy beats will get your hips moving.

Revolution in Fort Lauderdale
