Politico:

In a preview of the Wisconsin recall election, top Democratic challenger Kathleen Falk has come out guns blazing against Gov. Scott Walker, saying he ruined the state, has no scruples in labeling any opponent as a union pawn, and is under a cloud from the ongoing “John Doe” criminal investigation into some of his former aides.

Scott Walker is so typical of Teapublican "time machine" politics...they want to take Wisconsin and everywhere else that was blindsided into allowing them into office back to the 19th century "gilded age" where the rich were rich and everyone else was disposable. The silly "union bosses" and "socialist" tripe they proclaim is ripped right out of that era as well and is tiresome, shrill and very  Read More...

There is no way that Falk can win. She raised taxes nearly every year in her 14 years as Dane County Exec. Her budget increased 60% and she increased the tax levy 11.6% in her last two years. Doesn't this mirror every other fiscally irresponsible democratic governor in the states that are failing?
Walker was the one who brought the illegal activity of one of his aides to the district attorney. Why would he do this if he were part of the scam? He wouldn't, of course, but the liars on the left will make up any story to suit their needs.
Since ACT 10, Walker has saved in excess of $900 million for the taxpayers of Wisconsin, jobs are returning, business owners are 96% optimistic vs only 10% a year ago. Imagine that? Private companies and corporations...the revenue creators are on board with Walker. How can any decent person support the failed policies of the left that Falk would go back to?

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is daring the State Legislature to fight him on overhauling the state's $140 billion pension system.

By threatening to shut down the state government if lawmakers refuse to approve his pension reform proposal this year, Cuomo is betting on his popularity, public sentiment and his ability to negotiate political compromises in face of fierce opposition by public unions, political experts said. It's a tactic he used most recently to secure a new teacher evaluation plan.

The stakes in the battle are high for Cuomo, lawmakers, public employee unions and taxpayers

CRC's February Labor Watch publication looks at two initiatives that are likely to be on the November ballot in California. One is "paycheck protection," an initiative to prohibit employers from deducting from worker paychecks union member dues used for political purposes. This common sense proposal has been defeated twice before because of misleading union campaigns.
The second ballot initiative seeks to reform California's public employee pension system. Polls show voters want government pensions to be more in line with private sector 401(k) type defined-contribution pensions. But the unions and Governor Jerry Brown may confuse the issue by offering voters alternative ballot proposals.

CRC has commented on the fascinating state of play on the union pension issue in Wisconsin and New Jersey, and next month we will look at how liberal New England states are dealing with their pension problems.

Wisconsin is not California. As many times as you people bring it up, I will say the same.

Other than the fact that they are both states, there's no common thread here.

Wisconsin is not California.

By the way, what is CRC Labor Watch? Is that like the citizen patrols in the antebellum South?

Are they making sure that Labor doesn't get 'out of hand'?

Can you define for me the 'lowest common denominator' for the degree of advantage that Capital will seek maintain to over labor?

Is it wage-labor without health benefits? Is is Chinese-style exploitation, backed up by security forces? Is it the Old South, where Capital owned labor outright?

How far will Capital go to control labor?

Capital serves only profit, and it pays to remember that.

Gov Walker won't have to worry. If he gets recalled, the Koch bros will take care of him unless they think he is no longer in a position to enhance their bank account. It that case, they will throw him out like a hot boxed cigarette butt from a car window. I have read enough about the Koch boys to know they care very little about patriotism or the well being of this country. It is all about them and $$$$$$$$$$,

No, they are NOT responsible for 'job growth'.

The only thing that creates jobs is Demand for goods and services. Capital never creates jobs. The underlying Demand creates jobs.

Capital addresses demand and creates a product only when there's a market for it, true? How does that equate with 'job creation'?

Recalling Walker also recalls Koch Brothers, Karl Rove, and all others like them whose only interest is the 1%, so Wisconsin I hope you are paying attention and looking at the bigger picture. Walker wins Koch Brothers have another dumping place for their toxic waste much like they do in Arkansas. Look for yourself:

All I can say is Good Luck Wisconsin. I do hope you take your state back from Walker, the Koch Brothers, Karl Rove, etc, etc. Your fate is in you hands.

Walker overstepped his authority before he ever took office as Governor, attacking unions, he lost in court and cost the state serious money. Corruption surrounds his administration, alleged theft and Walker has done immeasurable damage to the state budget, culminating by stealing money designated for foreclosure victims.

The headline of his opponent is "slamming him" doesn't cover what needs to be broadcast about this hideous excuse for a government official. RECALL WALKER!!!

blink. I agree with all the above. I have a simple explanation.... Walker IS a conservative republican.... What else would you expect? It is in their DNA to "thieve" , "damage state budget..." ...."steal money". He fits the reactionary, uber conservative mold to a tee. Plus. This ideological perspective enjoy doing things this way. They love being antisocial in the DSM sense.

If I was Kathleen Falk I would say this to the citizens of Wisconsin: "Think of Scott Walker as a trojan horse. His only intent is to break any and all leverage that a typical, average citizen may have to remedy wrongs created by those of corrupted, moneyed influences who desire only to use that influence (free speech, HA!) for malevolent intent. That clear intent is make government an empty suit, a shell entity (where have we heard that before?) that will respond and be answerable only to them. The corrosive influence of corruption will be given free rein then as there will be absolutely nothing to counteract what they want to pillage, plunder and exploit for financial gain.

How does giving tax breaks to corporations who in turn invest than in the Asian Pacific rim help Americans? By the way, union workers pay a lot of taxes, too.

The only "looters" of significance are those that your party protects and defends and through "political favors" obtains huge sums of money to rampage through various and sundry political campaigns for the interests of the "few" over the interests of the many.
