'Game Of Thrones' Season 2 Trailer: HBO Releases Third Trailer With More Peter Dinklage (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/25/2012 6:51 pm Updated: 02/27/2012 12:48 pm

Winter is coming, war is coming and so are the "Game of Thrones" teasers, apparently.

HBO Go has unveiled a new trailer for the second season of "Game of Thrones," which premieres on April 1.

Fans of the TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's book series now have a third teaser to whet their appetities for Season 2 and it's chock-full of vague, but ominous and exciting one-liners (i.e. "Power is a curious thing" and "Sometimes those with the most power have the least grace").

Considering the last "Game of Thrones" trailer, which hit the web at the tail end of January, shattered HBO's viewing records, we're sure fans are eager to see this one.

The nearly two-minute trailer has glimpses of Robb Stark (Richard Madden), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane), Mellisandre (Carise van Houten), Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony) and everyone's favorite, Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) in action ... since previously, we've only seen still images of some of the characters from Season 2, which adapts the second of Martin's novels, "A Clash of Kings."

Note: Looks like we got a little ahead of ourselves! At first we said "A Storm of Swords" instead of "A Clash of Kings" -- "Swords," the third book of the series, is so huge, we get preoccupied wondering how many seasons it'll take to tackle it. (Don't you?) Our bad.

Take a look at the latest trailer, still photos below and let us know in the comments: What are you most looking forward to about Season 2?

For those who have read the books and have seen the first season, are they following the books to the letter? If so, do you think they will continue to do so throughout the series?

I haven't read the books, but I'm a fan of the show. I'm still upset that Sean Bean keeps getting whacked every time he's filmed!

Its pretty damn close, there are some changes, like the sexposition prostitute. But honestly it's one of the best adaptations I've ever seen

They did cut two vital scenes. Both Eddard flashback dreams. They shed light on the cause of the Robert's rebellion and the end of the war where he finds his sister. On the surface those two short bits seem unimportant, but broken down they throw the entire backstory as we know it on its head. My hope is that those were cut because they wanted to keep some stuff secret for down the road and not that they just didn't understand how worldshatteringly important those two scenes are. But besides that it is pretty dead on!

While I await the second season (by reading all the available books, of course), I keep wondering when Arya will reunite with Nymeria--and I mean in the flesh, not through the warg link.

And when HBO gets to the Red Wedding, I think I'll be afraid to watch it!

I actually threw my book across the room and yelled at it after the Red Wedding...and then I realized again how awesome this series is that it makes me care about the characters so much that I would get that mad.

I can't wait to see the Onion Knight. One of my favorite actors playing one of my favorite characters from the books. Hopefully they'll let him keep his Irish accent, there is nothing sexier in my book :)

I've not read any of the novels...and have no idea what is coming.

But in watching that preview, I have to ask...during season1, there was a lot of build regarding the White Walkers...in that preview, there appears to be a departure from the White Walker arc, is that due to the novels getting away from them to spend time focusing on the introduction of other factions in want of the throne?

I haven't read the novels (just ordered them though), but from what I've gathered, the first novels focus mainly on the different factions and that the white walkers will show up again in the later books.

The White Walkers are referred to as "The Others" in the book. It's been a while since I read the series, but I can say they do not follow a linear path. You can go entire books before a particular character or event is brought up again. "The Others" and a myriad of supernatural characters become more important as the books progress. I don't remember them being vital during book 1 or 2.

Do yourself a wonderful favor and read the novels. They're fantastic!

I can't wait! Absolutely love the show! I even went out and got all 5 books and read them after season 1 ended. Have to say, the series follows the book very closely.

But they dropped two vital scenes that were in the first book. Both were dreams that Eddard had that I feel are the key to unlocking the real backstory of the cause of Robert's rebellion against the Mad King and the secrets of Jon's lineage. I hope that they took them out because they thought it made things too obvious and they wanted to hold the reveal until later. Because if the writers just cut those scenes thinking they are fluff...then they are missing the real story.

Love the series and have always loved Dinklage, but oh my, that terrible accent he does doesn't seem to have improved.

I actually enjoy his accent; it's nice to hear an actor who can not only enunciate clearly, but has a deep, masculine voice while he's doing so.
