Rick Santorum: Michigan Primary Is 'Winnable' Despite Mitt Romney's Attacks

Rick Santorum Michigan Primary

By KASIE HUNT   02/25/12 09:33 AM ET  AP

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. -- Republican Rick Santorum says he thinks he can win Tuesday's presidential primary in Michigan and that conservatives shouldn't trust his main rival, Mitt Romney.

Santorum told tea party members in St. Clair Shores, Mich., on Saturday that Romney's claims that Santorum isn't conservative are "laughable."

Santorum calls the race in Michigan, the state where Romney was born and raised, "close" and "winnable."

Romney's TV ads are attacking Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, for voting for legislation that conservatives opposed.

Santorum is hitting back by calling Romney an "Occupy Wall Street adherent" because Romney has said his tax plan would limit deductions and exemptions for "the top 1 percent."

So Ricky Rooster, you do agree with Obama that the Mittster represents the 1%?

What a way to undermine your own party.

Try and envision a little table with kiddie chairs and Romney and Santorum sitting there talking to their imaginary supporters....It's called a tea party and is usually reserved for little girls to talk to their imaginary friends before taking a nap.

Here it is in a nutshell, If they are ALL lying about each other I do not want any of them for President.
If they are all telling the truth I do not want any of them for President.

Tony, this is no worse than the 2008 primaries between Clinton & Obama. When they tore each other apart.

Wait until the tea party people find out that Mitt believes that if they're not Mormons they are not saved, and they will be his family's servants in the celestial kingdom, if they are even lucky enough to get there as servants. Yes, even if they accepted Jesus Christ and think they're Christians. Can't get anything in the afterlife without Joseph Smith.

yawn, a few thousand people out of millions and millions will shuffle out in the cold and half-heartedly cast their ABO ballot for whichever monkey drums up the least amount of gagging...

I guess some tea party leaders in Michigan are starting to endorse Mitt Romney.

I heard some of them on NPR. Typical seniors without much of a clue. "I like his message" is as articulate as they could get.

Let Ricky appeal to the Tea Party. It's all he's got and they are a lesser minority than the total membership of the Tijuana Yacht Club.

The first time I heard about the Citizens United ruling by the SJC, I just couldn't understand who these judicial monks and sisters could even think of allowing such a blatantly ridiculous appeal come to pass.

But right now, I kinda dig it. Why? Because a higher law, the Law of Unintended Consequences have come into effect. Now, everyone can see how bad an idea it is that our politicians can be bought out by just one billionaire, and therefore can drag out the whole campaign without worrying about running out of money. And the Regressives candidates, G-d bless their black hearts, are a typical example of the type of poiticians these billionaires want to put in charge of the rest of us.

The Ayatollah Santorum will have a Taliban of religious fanatics on his cabinet and a private army of his own called the Republican Guard.

You say that Mitt can't be trusted but how can anyone who wants free will trust someone who wants to control every aspect of their lives. Rick, although I would never want any of you guys as president, you scare me the most. Your Dark Age mentality should be enough to stop any thinking person from voting for you. Unfortunately there is still the terminally stupid that will.

Santorum wants to take away your rights to contraceptives and health care, Romney wants to downsize your salary. They both want to send your children to war.

Neither one of these people is qualified for the office they are aspiring to and I sincerely hope that the American public figures that out before it is too late.

Well put and exactly what I've been saying for ages. Romney's not quite as scary but RickS would have me moving to another country because I don't want to live in a theocracy and I believe he'd at least try to move us toward that.

Faved.
