Jennifer Hudson, Adam's grandmother -- they've all honored the late Whitney Houston with performances that've gone viral. The latest entrant is either more or less of an opportunist, depending on how you look at it. Meet Ben Rector, writer of songs that appear on TV shows you've probably watched (don't lie, "One Tree Hill" fans). Rector recorded his cover of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" nearly a month before Houston died, according to his description on Youtube. No doubt realizing its timely potential, he uploaded it last week. Guileless or full of guile? You decide.

I think he recorded the song and then was involved in her death. All for the Benjamins. (duh, duh, duh)

I don't really care about the timing so let's talk about the song itself. Not every song can withstand a tempo change like this but I have to give Rector some credit, it's turned out good.

Why must people always be so negative and always look for the bad in everything. I could care less when it was recorded, it's a beautiful tribute by a very talented artist with a beautiful voice. Ben Rector, whoever you are...well done.

This is a non-story. He recorded it in January. End of story. Why are you wasting our time with this?
