Gwyneth Paltrow Oscars Dress 2012: Tom Ford White Cape! (PHOTOS)

After Gwyneth Paltrow's stunning Calvin Klein gown at last year's Oscars, we wondered if she could pull off another style win this year.

Good news! We think Gwyneth, who was there to present an award, totally nailed it, showing up in an equally striking Tom Ford white cape dress, about which television commentators immediately crowed their praise.

The "Contagion" actress limited her jewelry to a sparkly cuff bracelet and kept her hair just as sleek, slicking it back in a low ponytail.

I'm not a fan of hers, but this outfit was FIERCE. I was watching Now Voyager yesterday and Bette Davis had on a cape like that. I just loved it, a mix of old and new Hollywood Glam.

I love the dress and the cape; it's so sleek and she definitely has the body for it. Unfortunately, her hair never matches her gowns. It looks like she's ready to the clean the house with her hair pulled back like that. But the dress and accessories are flawless.

Loved the dress WITH the cape, not so much without the cape. Did NOT like Paltrow's hairstyle, or lack of one.

Thought this dress was beautiful,saw a picture of Leann Rimes wearing the short version at a pre Oscar party and it also looked great with no jewelry.......Doesn't need to be adorned.Did prefer LR hair over GP.

Paltrow is the type of female who would look good in a garbage bag.

However, I wish she did something more w/her hair - very boring. Did like the dress though.

I'm not necessarily a fan of Paltrow, but she looked stunning andever so classy......the cape reminded me of fashion from the 40s. Wish she had pulled her hair up in a loose chignon tho.

For once, Paltrow didn't look like a bag of bones. A very well chosen dress for this very plain lady. But her hair could have done with a little more attention.
