Barry Sanders Divorce: NFL Hall Of Famer Files For Divorce

Former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders has reportedly split from his wife of 11 years, Detroit TV anchor Lauren Campbell-Sanders.

According to The Oakland Press, the NFL Hall of Famer filed divorce docs Friday at the Oakland County Circuit Court.

The couple, who live in West Bloomfield, Michigan, were married in November 2000 and have three sons together, ages 4, 8 and 10. According to The Detroit News, Sanders is seeking joint custody of the kids and has agreed to pay child support, but he requested that the court hold his wife responsible for their health insurance and health care expenses.

Sanders -- considered one of the greatest running backs in NFL history -- retired from professional football in 1998 after setting numerous records throughout his 10 seasons with the Detroit Lions.
