Eli Roth may not the first name that comes to mind when thinking of cupcake battles, but on Sunday night's "Cupcake Wars" (Sun., 8 p.m. EST on Food Network) final, the "Hostel" director pitched in as guest judge.
At stake was the $10,000 grand prize and the opportunity to bake cupcakes for the "Screamfest" closing night VIP party at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
And the winners were ... Hawaiian-based pastry chefs Angela Chandler and Nicole Ferriman. "I'm freaking out right now," said a delighted Angela. "I don't even know what to take. Oh my gosh!"
Later, as the "Screamfest" VIPS tucked into her "delicious" cupcakes, Angela revealed that she now felt vindicated after being in the competition had led her to second-guess herself. "Now, after winning ... I have confidence in what I''m doing."
The sugary goodness continues on "Cupcake Wars," Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on Food Network.
