Funny Kid Drawings: 'How Are You Doing In Hell?' (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 02/27/2012 5:34 pm   Updated: 07/25/2012 12:59 pm

Be imaginative! Color outside the lines! If you're going to encourage little kids to be creative, be prepared…

Gawker's Emma Carmichael posted this masterpiece that her brother Joey, who is now 19, drew when he was six because he was sent to "timeout." Though her dad doesn't remember exactly what Joey did to deserve punishment, he'll never forget the note that read "HOW ARE YOU DOING IN HELL?" addressed to him and Ded (short for Dede, Joey's mom).

Carmichael writes that her dad wondered if he was dealing with Satan's spawn. We're thinking the world is lucky that Joey and this little girl didn't meet in the sandbox -- we'd all be doomed.

Moral of the story? Don't judge a kid by his art. Joey, Carmichael says, turned out just fine. So, don't be shy. We're looking for your child's funniest creations. Because they don't say anything about his or her personality at all.

Some of these were cute and some were very disrespectful, I get that the kids that wrote these notes were probably weren't older then fivs based on their hand-writing but in my opinion they should know better then to call someone ugly and fat!

They were cute but somewhat indicative of their parents examples as role models for their kids. I would say that their parents may be somewhat failing as parents, take note of it, and work to be better parents.

If my sisters and I were ever afraid to ask my parents if we could do or have something, we would give them a note that would state our request and have them circle yes or no. My sisters would always make me write the notes because my parents would never tell me no because I was the "good" one and the baby of the family.

If I was this kids parent I would be a little concerned. I know kids can do the darnedest of things and for some think it is funny, maybe I am old fashioned but this is a bit concerning for me.

I actually found this to be quite humorous! I laughed at how cute they all were, and honestly after seeing the first letter paired up with the background story, it made it even funnier to me. Just kids being kids, and I suppose that on top of kids saying the darndest things..they draw them too! :)

Just a kid being a kid, I know they find that strange in this great country of ours, news flash everything doesn't have a hidden agenda or a motive please stop trying to read in to everything, and just take the drawing for what it was, nothing absolutly nothing. *sigh*

Honestly, I know some folks think this is awful, but it really isn't. It's a little kid who's really angry about his time out. Where the parents need to step in is just to talk about it and acknowledge that he's mad at them and that it's okay to mad, but he's still in time out. As for other things like telling someone they're fat or ugly, same thing. Kids are not tactful and they don't understand that what they say can be hurtful. It's a parent's place to step in and explain to them about other's feelings and such. It shouldn't be ignored by any means, but the parents aren't evil creatures because they find it funny at the time and it does not mean the child is going to be a horrible person. Not too long ago when my mom was alive, she had had surgery. She called me up laughing to tell me that my youngest nephew who was about 7 years old, was walking down the stairs behind her. She was walking really slow and he said, Come on Nana in a huffy voice. My mom said, "I'm going as fast as I can. I don't want to fall". He answered under his breath, "Well at least you get there faster". He was only 7 and we both understood that. Not everything a child does is an indicator of future trouble.

I agree 100%! Kids always say the first HONEST thing that comes to their mind, that's why I love them so much lol. Of course it's up to the parents and other adults in their life to correct and discipline them about how their speech can be hurtful. And how they come up with some things I will never know. Like my nephew who calls me a "fake dollar" when he gets mad at me LOL

Doesn't anyone remember the show "Kids Say the Darndest Things"?

Yup! Art Linkletter. It had really funny things. It really is true that little pitchers have big ears and you need to watch what you say in front of kids. They just don't forget. :)
