SLIDESHOW: International Corporate Philanthropy Day Top Tweets

Corporations big and small are sharing ideas for giving back on International Corporate Philanthropy Day.

CEOs, employees and nonprofits are trading tips on everything from volunteering to social entrepreneurship.

Today, HuffPost blogger Sen. Mark Warner asked companies if they would pledge to do pro-bono work in their areas of expertise in order to strengthen and support long-term work of nonprofits.

Margaret Coady, the director of CECP, blogged for the Huffington Post about CEOs being real catalysts for social change.

"Not only are these CEOs empowering the firm's employees to take part in volunteerism initiatives on company time and allocating a percentage of profits to philanthropic grant-making, both of which have been core components of corporate community engagement practices for decades," Coady said, "but also they are rethinking the social-sustainability of their core corporate strategies."
