Another in a series of self glorification events for the baby boomer generation. As a baby boomer myself, I'm growing weary of what may be the most narcissistic generation in the history of mankind. This is the same environmental saviors who managed to use up large chunks of our resources: gas guzzling SUV's to take the kids to soccer practice, or large homes that used up enormous amounts of energy. A generation that proclaimed "live for today", only to find today is now, and they haven't saved a dime for retirement. Baby boomers will need to "work until they drop". Meanwhile, younger generations can't find career employment except at McDonalds. And, what about the peaceniks of the 60's? The Occupy Wall Street protesters have the opportunity to talk to baby boomer types like Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, Michael Moore, all of whom are members of the 1%. The 2012 Academy Awards will, hopefully, be the baby boomer's farewell performance.
