Sometimes the nicest teams have the worst luck on "The Amazing Race" (Sun. 8 p.m. EST on CBS). Married clowns Cherie and Dave had already lost time because of a shattered bus window when they reached the Roadblock at a stockyard in Argentina.
Unfortunately for Dave, the Roadblock involved long division and, as a tearful Cherie said, a math challenge "is the worst thing we could have picked for him."
As Dave struggled to work out the answer, the other teams solved it and moved on, leaving the clowns trailing in last.
When they arrived at the finish mat Dave and Cherie were met by soccer superstar Diego Maradona -- who seemed to be travelling incognito -- and host Phil Keoghan, who informed them: "You are the last team to arrive. Unfortunately, you have both been eliminated from the race."
Any regrets or recriminations? Cancer survior Dave said, "I am just so thankful to be here," and Cherie agreed, telling Phil and Diego "we're so lucky to have each other."
