Jan Brewer Scores Win With Mitt Romney Endorsement In Arizona Primary

First Posted: 02/28/2012 8:44 pm Updated: 02/28/2012 10:43 pm

With Mitt Romney's victory in the Arizona GOP primary on Tuesday, Jan Brewer became the first Republican governor to endorse the winning candidate in his or her own state.

Brewer, who became the governor of the Grand Canyon State in 2009, announced her support for the former Massachusetts governor on NBC's "Meet the Press" earlier this week.

"I think he's the man that can carry the day," she said Sunday. "Mitt is by far the person that can go in and win."

According to a PPP poll conducted earlier in February, Brewer's endorsement could have been a decisive factor for some voters. About 25 percent of likely Republican voters polled said they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who had Brewer's stamp of approval.

Until Romney's Arizona victory, the Republican primary had lacked successful endorsements from GOP governors.

In South Carolina, Mitt Romney had Tea Party favorite Gov. Nikki Haley as a surrogate. However, her endorsement was not enough to knock out Newt Gingrich, who emerged victorious in the Palmetto State.

Neither Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad nor Florida Gov. Rick Scott made endorsements prior to their states' respective nominating contests.

In an appearance on FOX News on Tuesday evening, Brewer discussed her winning endorsement.

"The Romney team, myself included, we're ready for the long haul," she said. "In the end, I think he will be the victor."

She also praised Romney for his stance on immigration reform, a signature issue of Brewer's.

"The bottom line is that we are a nation of law. We believe in the rule of law," she said. "That is what Mitt wants to do. He wants the laws enforced. Get our borders secured."

Michigan Governor Rick Snyder joined Brewer on Tuesday, when Romney was also projected the winner of the Michigan primary.

Snyder, who endorsed Romney earlier this month, appeared with the former governor at his election night party in Novi, Mich. on Tuesday night.

Since Hispanic immigrants routinely vote democrat, again, in an effort to scare WASPs into blindly rejecting the DREAM Act and voting Republican (and unknowingly supporting the real Republican platform: cutting taxes for the wealthy, abolishing Medicare. and privatizing Social Security), Republicans have concocted outrageous lies that marauding Mexicans are beheading Americans on the Arizona border. Yes , and the Governors Limo is an O-Cedar.

She Endorsed Mitt Romney because he like Governor Brewer is a so called "Latter Day Saint".

However they unlike the Mormon Church beleive in ripping Good, hard working Parents away from thier legal Citizen Children, or even worse Starving the entiere Family, at the cost of the Children.

This is not the way of Crhist, or any "Saint", Latter Day or otherwise.

Hitler used Extreme "Attrition" against illegal Jewish Immigrants.

Romney, and Brewer are on the same track.

Since the Anti Immigrant Rant began in January 2008.

Which is also the start of "The Worst Recession in U.S. History.

Over Five thousand legal Hispanic Citizen Children are now in Foster Care.

Over thirteen thousand Hispanic Immigrants have been Incarcerated for years with out charges.

Over One Hundred Non-Criminal Hispanic Immigrants have Died in Custody.

Over Forty-two Thousand Hispanic "Human Beings" now lay Dead at the Harsh U.S. Mexico Border where I.C.E. has Deported Hundreds of Thousands into a known "Drug War" with nothing, to be killed, or to Die of the Elements.

This is America's Darkest Hour.

Brewer certainly has the Wicked Witch vote. She was last seen flying high in the sky on her broom, skywriting in thick, black smoke:

"SURRENDER, BARRY!"

Please, how disingenuous of Gov. Brewer who waited until Sunay to endorse Romney. And that was only after she was sure Willard would win. Cronicles in political cowardice.

Didn't she wait until it was a done deal before she endorsed?

I'm shocked, Is that a teleprompter in front of Brewer? And they say it's only the president who uses them. Projecting again.

Saw her on Piers Morgan last night still throwing her digs at President Obama and calling him "thin-skinned" then smiling as she mentioned the book sales that resulted from her encounter with him!
Does this woman have no shame? Was that all about selling books?

Since Hispanic immigrants routinely vote democrat, again, in an effort to scare WASPs into blindly rejecting the DREAM Act and voting Republican (and unknowingly supporting the real Republican platform: cutting taxes for the wealthy, abolishing Medicare. and privatizing Social Security), Republicans have concocted outrageous lies that marauding Mexicans are beheading Americans on the Arizona border. In fact, since 2008, border-towns in Arizona have reported a significant decline in illegal immigrant related property and violent crime, and in the time Obama has been president, the Justice Department hired and moved 8,000 border patrol guards to the Texas border and has apprehended and deported more illegal aliens than the Bush Justice Department accomplished in 8 years. Plain and simple: Brewer pushed SB 1070 to reward her single largest campaign contributor—Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), which, with the new law, will reap huge profits from operating jails that house illegal immigrants. In Arizona, and thanks to Brewer, CCA rakes in $232 million annually, and with the new anti-immigrant law, watchdog groups are projecting a 22% increase in immigrant detainees, which, in turn, will increase CCA profits 57%. Due to SB 1070 and ongoing Republican inspired scare tactics, tourism related revenue is down 35%, yet Brewer continues to perpetuate the “southern strategy” by making baseless claims that illegal immigrants account for all drugs brought across the border, a statement soundly refuted as patently false by the U.S. Border Patrol. In reality, more illegal drugs cross the Canadian Border than any other border touching America.

Interesting proposition. 11 to 13 billion cross over into Mexico every year. What are the Canadian figures?

Estimates on how much money is sent south each year range from $10 to 30 billion. For Mexican traffickers along the Southwest border, the money is literally driven across the border in bulk amounts and then deposited into Mexican banks.
