Japan Tsunami Debris Forecast Discussed By Scientists

Tsunami Debris

HONOLULU (AP) — Lumber, boats and other debris ripped from Japanese coastal towns by tsunamis last year have spread across some 3,000 miles to areas halfway across the North Pacific, and could wash ashore on remote islands north of Hawaii any day now.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimates the first bits of tsunami debris will land at small atolls northwest of the main Hawaiian Islands this winter.

NOAA's tsunami marine debris coordinator, Ruth Yender, told an online news conference Tuesday that agency workers looking for the debris are boarding Coast Guard flights that regularly patrol the archipelago.

NOAA is also asking scientists stationed at Midway and other atolls to look for it.

Yender says so far no debris confirmed to be from the tsunamis has landed on U.S. shores.

There needs to be more coverage about this ongoing disaster at Fukishima. Seems like it has dropped off the cable TV news cycle for reporting.

Information coming from TEPCO and the Japanese government seems to be lacking substance.

There needs to be independent investigation and reporting.

There is, just not from MSM sources. Probably to cover up the radiation flowing all over the globe as we speak.

I'm very interested in the aftermath of the earth quake/tsunami and the continuing crisis of radiation leaks. You have to hunt for it yourself however. There is so much going on in the world and you have to find out for yousrelf sometimes. Don't think of this as rude, but you have to figure out how to use search engines and translators - BTW Japanese to English translators are pretty lame. Learn how to use Boolean operators in Google - use more than one search engine. Go out there and find the news - don't wait for it to come to you. Find Japanese news sources that translate their sites into other languages.

Again, don't complain because people aren't finding information for you, find it out on your own.

Why is it that I knew.
You would eventually tie in the evils of man to the tsunami.

I would suspect that this debris could end up being harmless compared to what has already been spread throughout the world !

I'm sure we will all find out later than sooner as it seems the way things go of late.
