Yellow minor appliances and accessories are ok, but I wouldn't do major appliances in yellow. Some yellow would go nice with either white or stainless fridge, oven, dishwasher and microwave.

My mom and dad had an "avocado" kitchen. Everything, including the trim around the doorways was avocado. Even 30 years later the avocado kitchen sink is still there.

clean up the bags of chips, get some fruit in there, wash down the stove, get some flowers on the table and clear it of papers.
