Miles Daisher And Chris Santacroce, Red Bull Base Jumpers, Leap Off Conrad Miami

What Would Make These Two Men Jump Off A Miami Skyscraper?

Base jumpers Miles Daisher and Chris Santacroce jumped off the top of the Conrad Miami building at Espirito Santo Plaza, a 460-foot tall building on Brickell.

To celebrate Leap Day, Red Bull Air Force, an elite 11-person aerial sports team, organized base jumpers in four cities to leap off skyscrapers at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

By 1:30 p.m. parachutists in Atlantic City, NJ, and Las Vegas, NV had already made their jumps while those in Detroit and Miami were delayed due to high winds.

Detroit Free Press said their local jumper wouldn't leap until winds died down to a safe 7 or 8 mph.

At 1:30 p.m. Miami winds were clocking in at 16 mph.

But just after 2:15 p.m., the winds calmed enough so that Daisher and Santacroce launched themselves into the humid Miami air for the 460-foot drop. Thankfully, they were wearing parachutes.
