The tragic loss of Whitney Houston is still weighing heavy on our hearts. But it's touching to see various publications celebrating the legend in their current and forthcoming issues.

Ebony magazine has dedicated its April issue to Houston. The special commemorative issue is filled amazing stories and personal reflections from people who had the pleasure of knowing the singer.

Kelly L. Carter, Toure, Scott Poulson-Bryant, and Ebony's former managing editor Lynn Norment are just a few of the notable names that pay tribute to the icon.

The publication also reached into its impressive archives to fill the pages with amazing photos of Houston that were taken throughout her impressive career. (The beautiful cover and feature images were shot by Randee St. Nicholas on June 1, 2010 in Los Angeles)

Here's a look at the gorgeous Ebony cover below and some of Houston's most iconic style moments. The special issue hits newsstands March 20.

Just watched Waiting to Exhale. Man, I cannot believe she's gone. I and so many others took her presence for granted. Her leaving to soon only proves that taking your loved ones for granted is not a good thing. Tell the one you love "I love you" each and every time you see them, it maybe the last time.

In all honesty and as much as I love the tribute covers and commemorative editions, I wish Whitney was celebrated before her death. For some magazines she wasn't good enough for a cover in the last six years of her life, but her struggles were used as gossip fodder to sell magazines and tabloids. I often wonder how much the recognition could have possibly enhanced her life if she was celebrated instead of ridiculed. Is this the same thing like the record industry, are magazines trying to capitalize off of her death? If we love those who have broken down doors to entertain us, to influence us and to educate us in this life then they are most worthy of reverence and accolades while they're living.

So True!!! You should give a person their flowers/recognition while they are living because they cannot smell the flowers or hear your worlds when they are gone.

Pretty Lady! Whitney Houston will be missed but I still watch her on youtube. She had the most beautiful singing voice.

All these years her voice distracted me from what a dresser she was! She was fierce! I'll miss you Ms. Houston.

I am curious why a commemorative issue wasn't given to Don Cornelius or Lena Horne?
