Neil Patrick Harris Shows 'Late Show' A Clip Of His Toddler Playing The Slots In Las Vegas (VIDEO)

Proud dad Neil Patrick Harris showed off photos of his adorable toddler twins on "Late Show" (Weeknights, 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS) and proved that where parents are concerned, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.

Harris recalled a funny thing that happened on the kids' first trip to Las Vegas. Proving that even the smallest ones can have fun there, little Harper was trying out one of the slot machines. However, that's a major no-no, and so casino security appeared within a matter of seconds.

David Letterman played a video clip of the incident and hilariously freeze-framed it just as a female security guard warned that there was a $10,000 fine for letting your kids play the slots. Harper was making a big "Oh!" face.

Harris joked that not only was Harper enjoying the slots, she also liked the free drinks that went with them.

"Late Show With David Letterman" airs Weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS.

We are role models for our young. If someone gets on TV and shows the public what they are doing, then the young parents thinks it is okay. Where is the trust factor being demonstrated in this.
Teachers, Medical personnel and other professionals have to live up to a high standard for the public and yet day time and night time radio, tv, and movie folks can do whatever makes them get into the public eye, no matter how outlandish it is. I see such a double standard in our country.

God, some of these comments just make me sick. Obviously his daughter wasn't "playing the slots" she was just responding to the machine because it was shiny and probably making lots of funny noises :) Most casinos nowadays allow children and people of ALL ages onto the floor. I've been told off in a casino before for taking pictures, how is that to say that I am a bad person or make bad decisions? And this IN NO WAY correlates to Neil's parenting skills, personal life or sexual preference, I mean are you kidding me?

Ack. Still I doubt that any of this was an intentional photo op. Just a bit of fun. Neill your still a great dad.

Good God, people -- RULES ARE RULES!! It's not "this is the rule until you want to have a cute photo with your kid", or "this is the rule until you just want to have a little fun", or "this is the rule unless nobody's getting hurt."

This is, as most strange events like this are, due to the litigenous society we live in. Most rules are based on fear of lawsuits. In some cases it's warranted but in some cases it is a case of common sense has left the bldg. Most parents with simple common sense wouldn't let their kids really gamble. Seems like they could offer pretend ones for the wee ones.

All I have to say is that Neil's children are absolutely precious. I wish them the very best.

Maybe he could open a kid's casino in Los Angeles. The prizes would be binkies and pacifiers...but I really think this idea is a goldmine! Parents could gather and share their parenting ideas. There is toddlers and tiaras...why not "Kiddie Casino?"

Isn't if funny that the baby (who has no concept of gambling and the consequences) is not allowed to pull the lever for fun on slot machine, but immature minded 18 year olds are allowed to gamble? The toddlers have no idea what it means, just that the lever pulling is fun, but 18 year olds think oh, cool I can gamble now let's blow up my hard earned cash and get drunk. The casinos would gladly steal money from irresponsible immature gamblers but won't let a supervised toddler pull on the lever. And you are going to FINE them?? What a way to get money.

21 is the age for casinos in Vegas and to drink. but yeah I agree.

One time we took our daughter to Vegas when she was 6. We were in the MGM, I believe, on our way to see the lions. I had my daughter's hand as we crossed the casino because of course everything you want to see is on the complete opposite side of the building from the door which you entered. I felt a tug and looked behind me and realized my daughter was trying to lean over and tie her shoe. I bent over to help her because she was still kind of slow with it and all of a sudden from behind me I hear "Excuse me Ma'am. You need to get your child off the casino floor." So I asked her how I was supposed to get to the lions if we didn't walk across the casino floor. She explained that children were allowed to cross the casino but weren't allowed to stop on the floor. I told her we were just trying to get her shoe tied and she snarled at me again, "Get her off the casino floor." My husband picked her up with her shoe half tied and we carried her until we were well away from the machines. It was annoying to be treated so rudely, but I realize that the casinos have to cover their asses. The funny thing was that this was when Vegas was trying to promote themselves as "Family Friendly." It didn't feel that way in that moment.

yeah and if it was me they would have given me the fine and took me to jail and put my toddlers in foster care.

Having lived in Las Vegas for more than a decade, I can assure you that children are allowed on the gaming floor. The problem is that the way today's casinos are built, they all have movie theaters, bowling alleys, restaurants, etc. Not to mention they have kiddie play areas where for a few bucks you can just drop your kids while you blow their college fund. Casinos have blurred the lines of gaming and family fun.
