Rush Limbaugh Bomb Scare: Authorities Called To Palm Beach House After Suspicious Package Discovered

A bomb squad was sent to Rush Limbaugh's Palm Beach, Fla., residence Thursday evening after security personnel discovered a suspicious package on the premises, WPTV reports.

According to the Palm Beach Daily News:

Palm Beach Police spokesman Fred Hess said the package appears to not be dangerous or hazardous. He said it was delivered late this afternoon and was X-rayed, as is all mail sent to the Limbaughs' home. When Limbaugh's staff saw what appeared to be wires in the package through the X-ray, they called police.

The package originated from a Pennsylvania man offering Limbaugh "a business opportunity," police said. Inside was an "electronic [plaque] commemorating the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth."

Limbaugh sparked outrage Wednesday after calling Sandra Fluke, a birth control advocate denied the opportunity to testify before Congress in February, a "slut." However, no connection between his comments and the package have been established, police say. The sender hasn't been publicly identified, but reportedly apologized to authorities when contacted.

It is unclear whether or not the conservative radio host was at the residence at the time of the incident.

I'm not surprised if someone delivered something scary to Rush's. He's been tossing bombs daily into the public arena for over two decades. Just because they are verbal doesn't mean they don't do damage. This man has damaged the public square more than any individual in US history.

What a life this guy has created! He's rich beyond belief but he upsets so many people that he lives in a state of fear and has to have his mail x-rayed. I bet he has one of those panic rooms in his house. He would probably cr*p in his pants if he ever found himself in the midst of the regular public without his security team. Especially after this latest rant of his, his fear level must be off the radar.

And talk about women having sex for money, I can think of 4: The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Mrs. Rush Limbaugh.

I don't know how many petitions I have signed, but I have signed alot. Thanks for spreading the message. The sooner he is off the air, the sooner this Country can start to heal. I just read another article that said all of his major sponsors who left are now saying they don't want to be on Hannity, Beck, Levine, Savage, or the woman with the adam's apple(can't remember her name). Who ever thought Limbaugh would kill conservative talk radio? I love it.
