Washington Caucus Results MAP (REAL-TIME DATA)

This is where you'll find results for the 2012 Washington caucus.

Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts and current GOP frontrunner, led with 37 percent of the vote going into the Evergreen state's Republican caucus, according to the latest data from Public Policy Polling. Rick Santorum, the former senator from Pennsylvania, followed with 32 percent of the vote, while Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich trailed in third and fourth places, with 16 percent and 13 percent of the vote, respectively, going into Saturday's contest.

SCROLL DOWN FOR MAP

Paul bested Romney in the 2008 Washington caucus, winning just over 22 percent of the vote, according to The New York Times. Paul finished in third place behind Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas. Romney finished in fourth place in 2008 with just 15.4 percent of the vote.

There are 43 delegates up for grabs in Washington. 40 of them will be awarded based on Saturday's vote. Three more are Republican party officials who are not bound to any candidate at the national level. Because Saturday's contest is a non-binding straw poll, however, none of the delegates will be awarded until the state convention in May, Josh Amato, the communications director for the Washington State Republican Party, explained to The Huffington Post.

The map below, featuring real-time data provided to HuffPost by the Associated Press, shows county-by-county results for this year's Washington caucuses.

To see the returns for a specific county, simply click that area of the map. You'll also be able to see how Romney and Paul fared in each county in 2008.

The map is updated every five seconds, so there's no need to refresh for the page for the latest results.

Thousands of people were turned away from the caucus sights last night. There is no declination of the GOP there.

Has Anyone in the GOP taken a long serious look at the candidates voting record. Does anyone know what the GOP Policies are and compared them to the candidates. Mitt Romney supports the NDAA and the Patriot Act with NO plan to ban or change them, that I have heard of. He is also for Gun Control, and had the most costly healthcare plan in Michigan.Rick Santorum voted to give taxpayer money to the largest baby killing organization in the U.S. and is also for Gun Control. He also voted for HUGE Bailouts in Congress. THAT is NOT A vote for LIMITED Government. Well as for Newt, his flip flopping record along with his inability to show discretion and moral while pretending to be a Christian. This is very appalling to those who read their Bible and see the hypocrisy. I know he is human, but I do not trust his Character or Values. He like to get paid big money from outsiders rather than stick with the GOP policies. REDUCE government, Protect Life, All citizens are to created Equal and have the right to Life ,Liberty and Land Rights, gun Rights,

50,000 votes cast out of the whole state.

Republicans, can't you take a hint, this just isn't your election year, after foisting those "cracked tea pots" on your fellow American voters, when WE told you they were being hijacked by Dick Armey and Bachmann Corporate lobbyist support, along with Rove. But you voted for them and look what you've done.

Now I understand when George mugged the country, you might have gotten tapped by the flying debt numbers being tossed around in OCT 2008. But since then, the panic has subsided, and WE are on our way to obtaining jobs, if this election, WE give the President a set of Working Houses for the People. Otherwise, he'll be elected, and the GNOTP stubborn elephants, will continue saying NO, and running for election, after the next swearing in.

The only way WE can get them to get it throught their thick numbskulls, is to landslide them for every NO they cast, in every state. WE'll help you guys vent PEople candidates if you want, but by no means, vote for more of the same, because that is exactly what you'll get. It's exactly what they are talking about and more, but they won't come out and tell you they want to "bet the whole house this time, on a two bit nag."

yeah realistically this is a small slice of folks. HOWEVER: Look at every county's number of votes in comparison to 2008...It's like somehow the republican base grew ...this despite all -real- evidence to the contrary around republican party membership rolls. Folks have left the party in droves ...and yet...THAT is the troubling part of this for me....
06:23 PM on 03/04/2012
wait I need to correct myself: looks like Repubs didn't get a primary this year. usually they get both a primary and a caucus at just about the same time, but by some weird law the primary doesn't count for nomination, so due to budget cuts the repubs only had this one caucus to show their stuff... and it shows they have left the party in droves...as hoped.

Look at the total numbers of people who voted. The Republicans are making decisions based on the lunatic fringe.

The win of the Washington state caucus is more than just a win for Mitt Romney; its a big win which he needed badly after barely skating by in the win of his home state's primary in Michigan. Now that he has finally dusted Rick Santorum, maybe he will get a little more respect from the shifting base.

He's a sociopath who will have no problem doing what he can to empower big business to dump American workers and relocate businesses in third world countries. But why stop there? Perhaps Romney will get rid of all taxes for them, too. Romney and Co won't be happy until we are a third world nation ourselves, begging for minimum wage (if we're lucky) jobs. Then his wife can have another cadillac.

The bright side is that he'll never see his jewel-encrusted monogrammed towels in the White House bathrooms.

Violet - I agree with you totally, I believe that the all on GOP platform aim is to drive down the economy and force all workers to low wages. This has been going on since Ron Reagan who began the fighter against union workers as he broke down union for air controllers which has resulted in poor air traffic control and endangers Americans because of lack of proper workers force to manage the airways.

Some people are saying this is a low turnout. But it seems three to four times as many voters have turned out, consistently across the state, more this year than they did in 2008. It might be interesting to get some insight into why that should be?
06:03 PM on 03/04/2012
I agree. I have trouble believing that they could be even more fevered this year than they were in my county in 2008. Crazier yes, more fevered...hmmm.
10:25 PM on 03/04/2012
In 2008 there was a primary in which 500,000 people voted and a caucus with 12,000 people. This year there was only a caucus so that was the only way people could participate.
10:48 AM on 03/04/2012
Mitt Romney is not getting 30 delegates, ron paul is probably getting 30

I'm surprised of the total switch myself between Paul and Santorum. Being just south of Whitman County, I guess they are different kind of redneck. I say that from my experience living there at one time
12:06 PM on 03/04/2012
I am surprised that Whatcom County went for Santorum. I am from Bellingham.
01:01 PM on 03/04/2012
You're forgetting Lynden. Bellingham is a liberal bastion, true, but there are parts of this county that are very conservative.

Proud to say I'm a Washington resident and from a state that is a solid backer of the President.

(Smile)..... Holding a Republican caucus here was akin to holding a Glen Beck "Welcome Home" party. (for those unaware he is from a small town north of Seattle, the town who once awarded him a key to the city, which half the town protested!)
01:04 PM on 03/04/2012
Skagit county had twice as many votes for Romney than Santorum.
10:21 AM on 03/04/2012
850,000 people participated? In a state of over 6.8 million you would think there would be more than 50,000 Republicans.
10:22 AM on 03/04/2012
That first number should have read 50,000 of course.
