Jack White On SNL: Solo Artist Performs 'Love Interruption' And 'Sixteen Saltines' (VIDEO)

The White Stripes' better half Jack White took the SNL stage Saturday night -- for the much anticipated LiLo edition -- performing two songs off his forthcoming solo album, Blunderbuss. In his song choices, White showed two sides of himself we've come to know well. The folksy crooner on "Love Interruption," and the badass rocker on "Sixteen Saltines," the kind who would smile a knowing smile at anyone who implied rock might be dead.

Blunderbuss is out April 24.

I am very excited to hear what Blunderbuss sounds like in its entirety! The song he plays here "Sixteen Saltines" is great! Definitely my favorite that I have heard thus far. If you guys haven't heard the actual studio version of the song you need to! It's streaming on his website:

he's better than most, a throwback for sure. It's Jack White and the Black Keys basically.

I appreciate his guitar shredding skills, however, it's not my brand of music.

I love Jack White! I loved both performances and the fact he has an all girl and all guy band. He was by far the highlight of SNL....and probably the best musical guest they have had since The Black Keys. Can't wait for his new album "Blunderbuss" to come out.

The first song was perhaps the first time Jack White had totally bored me. He bounced back on the second song a bit - he must've gotten his B-12 shot between tunes. Still sounds like he's running out of ideas, though...nearly any White Stripes song was better than the two he did on SNL, even though they sounded just like White Stripes songs.

The Boomers had Hendrix, Clapton, Page, and Santana. Gen Y has Jack White.

No wonder you're so confused and bitter.

Jack White is bogus. He's a poser. Wise up.

Well it's this moment's Elvis. Taking black music style, weakening it, watering it down and calling it his own. And his fans think the redone crp is revolutionary.

I don't see how you come the conclusion he is a poser. You dismissive attitude really undercuts what a talent White is. Certainly he looks the part of the blues/hip rock star, but that is what he is - that is his life. He doesn't pose as such, he lives as such.

Catch "This Might Get Loud" and see if he is a poser, or if he holds his weight with The Edge and Jimmy Page. Certainly he is the young man on the block, but he isn't out of his element.

The difference between guitarpickers and nitpickers: guitarpickers deserve to be heard.
