Stephen Colbert Talks Saints Bountygate, Danica Patrick, Pete Weber (VIDEO)

Colbert SHOCKED By Saints' Bounty Scandal

The Colbert Report

Add Stephen Colbert to the list of people shocked with the recent NFL scandal involving defensive players for the New Orleans Saints getting rewarded injuring opponents. Colbert dove headfirst into Bountygate on Monday night's edition of the Sport Report, but not before he touched on bowler Pete Weber's bizarre celebration and Danica Patrick's NASCAR debut.

Colbert briefly spoke about the Daytona 500, in which Patrick crashed on the second lap and finished 38th. He then talked about San Diego TV sports anchor Ross Shimabuku's sexist slur about Patrick before the race, which got him suspended. Colbert joked that Shimabuku had a point when he ripped the driver for complaining that the media always describes female athletes like her as "sexy."

Colbert suggested that if Patrick wants to be taken seriously as a competitor, she should stick to her sport like male athletes do and showed pictures of Tom Brady (posing without a shirt), Alex Rodriguez (checking himself out in the mirror) and David Beckham (posing for an underwear ad).

Then the late night host went into the bounty scandal.

"Yes I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that NFL players were being paid bonuses to injure each other," Colbert said. "They're already paid a base salary to injure each other."
