Joan Rivers Vs. A Pair of Stage Moms On 'Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best' (VIDEO)

Joan Rivers Vs. Stage Moms On 'Joan & Melissa'

Anybody who's seen stage moms know that they can get into intense arguments over the most benign things. On "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best" (Tue., 9 p.m. EST on WE), Joan Rivers proved she could get as crazy as the rest of them when she took her grandson Cooper to an audition.

She can be forgiven for not knowing that she wasn't allowed to go in with him, but she was clearly listening in with the door cracked open. When one of the waiting mothers told her she couldn't do that, though, Joan played it off like she didn't realize it was open, and then kept listening in for a few moments.

This prompted the mother who'd already talked to her and another mother to tell her she should simply sit and wait. But Joan didn't want to sit. And somehow, this erupted into a crazy screaming and shouting match. The women really thought Joan should sit, and Joan really didn't want to sit and then they were calling each other "Real Housewives" and calling out their hometowns.

In the midst of this, the woman who'd escorted Cooper back for the audition came out again with him; both of them looking more than a little confused. "Ladies. What's going on here? Is everything okay?"

"Absolutely," Joan said sweetly and immediately. "How did he do?"

To be a good stage mom, you apparently need to be able to turn the anger on and off at a moment's notice. Joan may be a grandmother, but she appears to have the right ingredients to make a go of it.

"Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on WE.
