NY1's Pat Kiernan Guest Hosts 'Live! With Kelly': What Did You Think? (VIDEO)

Adored NY1 anchor Pat Kiernan had a dream come true on Wednesday, when the morning news anchor co-hosted "Live! With Kelly."

"Live!'s" Kelly Ripa welcomed her guest-host by acknowledging the local buzz surrounding Kiernan's big step on the national stage. "This is a moment that you all should know has been no less than a year in the making. I started hearing about you and me working together a year ago," Ripa said.

"The show happens when I'm usually on my lunch break," the Canadian morning news anchor said. "I've watched for years and I think that we will have good chemistry together."

Kiernan then showed off his skills as he held up New York's daily newspapers a la his well-known segment on NY1, In The Papers. He took Ripa through his signature moves, including "the pivet" and "the reveal." He also showed off some vocal stylings while discussing the death of legendary songwriter Robert Sherman.

Many tweeted their support and reviews of Kiernan's audition throughout the show. Kiernan also tweeted about this excitement, including that he broke out a new pair of Costo dress socks for the big day. Kiernan told New York magazine that his dream job is to replace former "Live!" host Regis Philbin.
