Paula Deen Racist Accusation: Attorneys Say Claims Are False

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A Georgia judge has rejected a request for a gag order restricting pre-trial comments in a sexual harassment lawsuit against celebrity chef Paula Deen's companies.

The Savannah Morning News reports ( ) that Chatham County Judge Louisa Abbot said she would file an order denying the request by attorneys for Deen and her businesses. http://bit.ly/xLncbi

Attorneys for Deen said Tuesday that a former worker who claimed she was sexually harassed and subjected to a hostile work environment at a restaurant co-owned by Deen and her brother made false claims after Deen refused to pay her to keep quiet.

A statement from the law firm representing Deen says the lawsuit from Lisa Jackson "makes false allegations against Paula Deen and they will be proven false in court." The restaurant is in Savannah.

Let's wait and see. If she really did say that racist crap, she should be held accountable. If she did not, she's innocent. At any rate, with her incredibly unhealthy food, alleged racism and mean attitude, Paula's a bad media influence and deserves some bad publicity.

It saddens me to think that an individual can be so popular, and torn down so quickly. Sure Paula has had health issues, and now everyone knows about it. I feel she's trying to justify things now, by changing her diet, and coming forward to be honest. I respect her for this.
As for the sexual harrassment charge on her brother, whom co-owns the resturant with Paula, why did this woman wait so long to file charges? And isn't it ironic, how this all came out after Paula's diabetic health issue

I seriously doubt that paula Deen is a racist. God, that poor woman. It seems like everyone is kicking her now that she's down. I have no doubt she's made some mistakes, but I don't think she deserves the treatment she's been receiving.

Maybe she needed her job, she and her husband were having financial difficulties. I don't know if it is true or not, but I do know my opinion of Paula slipped when she did not come out about her health and diabetes and then signed up for the money with the pharma company...I have a daughter with Juvenile Diabetes and it is a very serious illness!!

oh boy, neither of you know this woman at all but feel free to assume, you know what they say about that. Id say its more likely a disgruntled employee trying to capitalize at her business. Being that shes a celebrity and all over the place these days, shes probably not even at her business most of the time, if so, very rarely. Not many details here.
