'Fashion Star' Preview Video: A Totally Awkward Moment! (VIDEO)

Cringe! There's a total awkward moment on the upcoming "Fashion Star" series -- and it involves gender politics (really!).

In this sneak preview clip, Nicholas, a designer from Australia, presents his line of menswear to judges Nicole RIchie, Jessica Simpson and John Varvatos. Varvatos tells Nicholas that his biker jacket is a little tired, and Nicholas takes it in stride. But when Simpson poo-poos one of the designs, saying the zippers are kind of overdone, Nicholas fires back.

"I think it's a very fashion-forward piece," he retorts, "If you understood what's going on right now, you'd probably understand that that's what's going on right now in men's fashion."

The crowd booes, and RIchie jumps in to further critique Nicholas' runway looks.

He interrupts, telling Richie that while he takes Varvatos' opinions on menswear seriously, he doesn't think he should listen to women's opinions on it.

The NBC show, hosted by newly single Elle Macpherson, will premiere on March 13th at 9:30 ET.

Ah ha ha ha! That's pretty ballsy of that guy, I must say! But I kind of agree with him, I am not sure why or how NR & JS are judges on this show when they themselves look ridiculous half of the time. I mean, JS has worn the most ridiculous maternity outfits and NR is notorious for wearing garbage bag like outfits... I mean, maybe that's fashion?? But I personally don't see it as such. That being said, the guy who is showing off his designs.... those looks have been done too. Meh, maybe I just DON'T GET fashion! LOL

I bought a pair of Jessica's pumps and boots.

So cute - but they kiLL my feet.

The arch is all wrong.

I also have her luggage - it tends to tip over on it's rollers.

Not sure how I keep ending up with her stuff as I'm old as dirt. It seems to be everywhere.

But I'm very happy for her :)

Well, my opinion is that all women should wear plain white grannie panties and there should never be lace or thongs or anything like that.
