It's shaping up to be a busy spring for Occupy. The movement born last year in a New York City park has come roaring back to life this week after a period of hibernation. It promises to be even livelier in weeks and months to come.

"Regarding money, Occupiers should start to get support later this month from a new entity called the Resource Movement Group (RMG), bankrolled by wealthy supporters sympathetic to the movement. The backers include Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of ice cream maker Ben & Jerry's, as well as Danny Goldberg, former manager of Nirvana. Their goal is to raise $1.8 million, to be given out as grants of up to $25,000 each to protesters whose projects win RMG's approval.

"A web posting by Occupy's General Assembly describes RMG as "a fund source that believes Occupy is ready to transit from being a series of spontaneous actions to a more strategic national movement."

Oh, yes! It's going to be a lovely Spring!! :-)

I am glad OWS plans to rise up again in spring. It is the pushback from labor - the 99% without whom no profit could be made.

Did you hear that nice Vikram Pandit, CEO of CitiGroup, made a massive $14.9 million bonus while his company has been losing money and plans to lay off 4,500 people.

Since 93% of income generated by the economic recovery has gone to the 1%, and the 99% only got 7%, I went into the Bureau of Economic Analysis and ran some numbers:

Between the first quarter of 2009 and the last quarter of 2011, aggregate personal income growth was $1.194 trillion.

Since there are 310 million in the USA, the 1% is 3.1 million. The 99% is 306.9 million.

If 1% of the people took in 93% of $1.194 trillion, this equates to an average yearly income increase of $119,440.

You know what the rest of us got? OUR average yearly income increase was a whopping....you READY for this???

$91!

That's right - while nice guys like Jamie Diamon, Clarence Otis and Vikram Pandit are raping the treasury, WE got a whopping $91 more per year!

S**ks, doesn't it?

Sounds like you're a bit too concerned with what others do with their money. Why aren't you concerned with yours? Go get a job and donate it to ows...

You're missing the point purposely. The problem is not what Pandit, Otis, Diamon and the rest DO with their income; it is that they are hogging 93% of all income and leaving only 7% for the rest of us. Remember that without us, these turkeys would have NO profits.

Though their economy is expanding to double digits every year, in China middle class parents scrimp and save to their kids to school here. The poor would be indebted to pay thousands of dollars and risk their lives to get smuggled here. What opportunities could they see that OWS can't? Interesting how it takes people from other countries to see how good we have it. While migrants come here and work hard and aspire to be a one percenter, some form drum circles and demand that the rich share their wealth.

To say that life in the US is better than a life of poverty in China is not really making your case.

I'm gonna have to agree with SMC 281 on this one, because your argument proposes the following fallacy:

"Since living conditions are lower in country x, and its people want to come to country y, the people in country y have no right to make any attempt to improve their living conditions."

Sorry, but as involved citizens in a republic it is not only our right, but it is also our responsibility to use the government we pay for with our taxes; the government supposedly of, by and for our people, to make things better for us, our children and our grandchildren. That means single payer healthcare, affordable college, strong social security and LESS of our tax money flowing into corporate coffers.

For those of you clinging to hope that in the spring, hopefully warm weather will bring out more OWS protestors I got news for you:

"Snow was a no-show during most of weak, warm winter" By Doyle Rice, USA TODAY, March 2, 2012
For many Americans, it was the winter that wasn't, especially when compared with the Siberia-like weather of the past two years. Stunningly low snow totals and near-record warmth were the norm for many spots, primarily east of the Rockies.

It's been a mild winter! If fair weather revolutionaries were going to come out, they would have come out by now. It's not the cold weather keeping everyone in, it's your drum circles, mic checks, raping, looting and flag burning! Not effective ways to bring down capitalism.

So; it may be none of my business but how many of you make in excess of $10,000,000.00 per year? No! Why not? Do you think the people comprise the 1% are going to let you get there from where you are?

(buzzer sound)

No! We both know the 1% is going to try to hang on to 80% of the total revenue in this nation and they are not going to share until they have to.

With all respect to your views that the 1% are Job Creators. The wages paid by those job creators do not allow the average American family to live on what they make. Truthfully it's o.k. for folks who think things are just peachy to stay home and cry and moan about the hippies, misfits, and, (oh, can I forget the favorite pigeonhole) socialist being out on the streets.

Just keep in mind those very miscreants are working to make this a decent country to live in again. One with a government that isn't bought and sold to the highest bidder. Something you would likely refer to as American Values. How about throwing your stereotypes out the window and working for your nation? This is a movement not a political party and nobody cares what you believe other than that you want the control of the nation back in the hands of the majority. Come on down.

I am energized and it looks like it is going to be an interesting year. I suspect the logic of local government and business leaders was that the movement would just fade away with winter. But, the banks never really did get the message and Wall Street continues to require remedial training so let the lessons begin.

Each day is one day closer to taking control of our government away from the one percent. The abusive practices of the financial gamblers and lenders have made change inevitable as we claw and struggle our way into the 21st century. We can and are capable of maintaining the integrity of the movement to force reforms that make financial possesses fair and equitable to every American. ( Where's my drum? I know I laid it right here and have you seen my sunglasses?

I live in the general vicinity of Camp David, and I can't wait for the Occupiers to show up for the G8 summit. With a bunch of bandito hankerchief and Guy Fawks mask-wearing loons roaming around the Catoctin Mountains trying to find the place, ignoring the "use of deadly force authorized" signs and trying to dodge armed security troops with assault rifles. Rock on, Occupy!...

I'm sorry your such a cinic - but then those folks at Camp David are going to invite you to dinner and tell you how you are one of them. Heck, Dick Armey may even put Sarah on a bus and park it in your front yard.

Are you getting the picture? The people you are laughing at care more about you than the people you think are special. Stange how life works out.

Hmmm...aren't stereotypes strange things. Most of us thought the lowlife's worked in Congress, listened to FOX News, and hated women. Yep; the mind is a terrible thing to waste. Do you say tomato or maddor? I'm from the South and have heard both usages and always knew the speaker was asking if I wanted a slice on my hamburger.

OWS is what happens when bored, white, middle class kids reads about economic inequality in Adbusters and thought it would be fun to play 60s radicals on the fly by mic checking, looting, and forming drum circles.

Six months in and #OWS has incited change for no one. taxKilla offers a way for each of us to have a real impact on government.
