Penguins On A Plane
A pair of cute penguins greet passengers on a flight from San Antonio to Atlanta

First there were snakes on a plane. Now penguins are taking the air.

Or at least that's what happened on Delta flight 1641 from San Antonio to Atlanta on March 8th, as captured in this adorable YouTube video.

According to Yahoo News, the pilot made a special announcement asking if anyone was allergic to penguins. When the plane reached cruising altitude, the pair took a stroll down the first class cabin greeting passengers who snapped and filmed the cuddly creatures.

But this wasn't just a special treat from Delta Airlines. It turns out Pete and Penny, ages 6 and 12, were en route to New York for the premiere of "Frozen Planet," a new Discovery Channel documentary series narrated by Alec Baldwin.

This isn't the first time a penguin has made an in-flight appearance. Almost a year ago, footage emerged on YouTube of a pair of SeaWorld penguins walking the aisles of a San Francisco to San Diego Southwest airlines flight.

Another cute animal-in-flight story not to miss? Check out this cat who delayed a Toronto flight after getting into the cockpit earlier this year.

I thought this was cute - until I saw it on World News Tonight on ABC.

What has the world come to where cute internet videos become classified as international news?

Wait til they poop on the rug in the first class cabin. Passengers will be running for the exits. Nothing smells worse than penguin poop.

The person that said "This little guy wants to stick around" kinda sounded like Melissa McCarthy for a second.

Only possible allergy to the penguins would be a way too cute for words syndrome.

Can you imagine if those penguins had taken a Southwest flight? They would have most certainly been trampled during boarding.

I don't care what anyone says, I believe in global warming. I have seen and had noticed it first hand. I have trekked back and forth across the US and Europe all my life. I have seen the changes to climates in places that I have returned to years later. So no matter what lies some group or government wants to try to spoon feed me, I'm spitting it back out in their faces.

The real story here is that Frozen Planet as being played in the USA is missing the final and most important episode, on climate change and global warming, all because the TV stations think people Stateside aren't ready to believe in it yet. As if not believing in it will make it go away.
The problem with real science though is that it is not like Father Christmas and Jesus being related to some mystical old dude in the sky; it won't just stop existing just because you choose to stop believing in it. Those twisters will still blow a hole through your house and town, those floods and droughts will still mess up the land, and those penguins will only be cute as long as they're alive, which is dependent on NOT taking too many airplane flights, so that their homelands don't disappear.

It isn't that people aren't ready for it. The problem is that the GOP have been attacking the very idea of global warming 24/7, to the point that it is now politically dangerous for a station to allow scientific programs on the air.
08:32 AM on 03/11/2012
"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing."

I know, and I agree that the Republican party have been told to deny climate change, and so they present a unified voice that lies loudly. And I know they are doing so because they are being paid so to do by oil industry lobbyists and other such lackies. That it's 'politically dangerous' is not good enough when they're holding the world to ransom. The TV stations need your and my support to fling the lies back and start publishing the truth the rest of the world is accepting.

Penguins aren't the birds people Stateside should be looking at. Where are the ostriches?

You need to read Revalations.
09:01 AM on 03/11/2012
You need to do a Google search and read anything that tells you who the Koch brothers are, and how much money they are pouring into the Tea Party and 'think tanks' and media on behalf of others in the oil industry, so as to keep you thinking faith in a Bible and the current western lifestyle is going to be enough to let you continue not caring enough about changing your plastic/oil based way of life.

couldn't find it...but i found RevElations....read it..reminds of an acid trip...not really for the young....bit monotonous...goes on a bit...like the horsemen bit...and those other books connected to it(i think its called "the bible" ) or biblos which actually means library , were full of bollocks.
