"Well I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies"

Quincy's early career has some unbelievable material as well. He, along with Billy May, Nelson Riddle, and Neal Hefti, is part of the quartet of arrangers that basically made Frank Sinatra's career what it was. His instrumental arrangements for his own band as well as the Count Basie band are some of the most enjoyable tunes I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

The man is nothing short of a genius.

The lack of comments for this article is somewhat disturbing given the fact that if it were about Rihanna wearing a see thru top there would be several hundred comments already posted. Quincy Jones is a living legend and I hope that those frequenting BlackVoices" acknowledge that.

I acknowledge it every time I pick up my horn and play one of his wonderful arrangements in my big band.

I'm lucky to have a nice library with plenty of his tunes in it.
