Broadway vet Bernadette Peters is taking on the buzzed-about Broadway TV show "Smash." In addition to appearing on the March 19 episode as Ivy's (Megan Hilty) fabulous mother Leigh, the two-time Tony winner will return for the season finale.
Whether or not Karen (Katherine McPhee) will take the role of Marilyn by the time the show opens remains to be seen, but Peters will be attending regardless.
"I come to see my daughter, yes," Peters told TV Guide, without disclosing any further details.
