Rush Limbaugh On Twitter: Radio Host Posts First Tweets (AUDIO)

Rush Limbaugh Starts Tweeting

Rush Limbaugh sent his first tweets on Thursday, announcing that he wanted to "mobilize" his "army" of listeners in a new way.

Limbaugh said he has had an account for a while, but had never used it. However, he has been more under siege than ever in the wake of his attacks on Sandra Fluke. Possibly, he has also seen how crucial Twitter has been in fueling the advertiser boycott of his show. Whatever the reason, Limbaugh told his listeners on Thursday that he would henceforth be sending them information about how they could help him via Twitter.

"Everybody has been asking me what they can do to help in all of this, and I've been saying, nah, just do what you've been doing just, if you listen, keep listening, that's fine, but there's an army out there that wants to be mobilized, and so, I figured, use Twitter for it," he said. "I'm just going to put some things on Twitter that you can help us circulate. It's that simple -- you just retweet them."

Limbaugh even assured his listeners that "you don't have to follow anyone but me."

His first tweets were all about --who else?-- him. They both also featured a common target:

Limbaugh told his audience that he wouldn't be tweeting every day. And he refused to tell them what he was eating for breakfast.
