Israelis agree Iran hasn't decided on atom bomb

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's president has sent Iranians his traditional greeting for the Persian new year, wishing for "peace and coexistence" despite tensions over their country's nuclear program.

Shimon Peres also urged Iranian leaders not to threaten anyone or make their "children flee home" — an apparent reference to the possibility of war.

Peres' greeting for Nowruz was broadcast Monday over Israeli Radio's Farsi service, which is popular in Iran. He spoke first in Farsi and then in Hebrew,

Israel's leaders are increasingly warning of an attack on Iran if the nuclear program is not halted.

There are mounting concerns in the West that the program masks ambitions for nuclear weapons. Tehran denies the charge, claiming it's for peaceful purposes only.

British Activists to Protest at London's War Rhetoric against Iran, Syria

Anti-war activists will march outside Foreign and Commonwealth Office on Wednesday to protest government's warmongering policies and its threats of war against Iran and Syria.

The demonstration, dubbed as 'Peace For Iran, - No To War' has been organized by Peace Strike campaign group

The peace campaigners who are pledging not to "allow another war to happen" are also calling for a three-day continuous strike "to stop war".

The US and Britain and their close ally Israel have recently intensified their war rhetoric against Iran. The two arch foes of the Islamic Republic accuse Iran of seeking a nuclear weapon, while they have never presented any corroborative document to substantiate their allegations. Both Washington and Tel Aviv possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads.

Iran vehemently denies the charges, insisting that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population, whose fossil fuel would eventually run dry.

Iran has, in return, warned that it would target Israel and its worldwide interests in case it comes under attack by the Tel Aviv.

The United States has long stressed that military action is a main option for the White House to deter Iran's progress in the field of nuclear technology.

If Israel also agrees with America, that Iran is no threat, then why the jingoisticks, especially from nuclear Isreal ? Time for the world to hold Israel responsible for holding large stocks of illegal WMD's, with leaders like trigger - loving Netanyahu in charge. As for America, it's leaders who helped the Israeli's to become nuclear and now have no control over it, in fact are actually controlled by Israel, what should be do to them ?

I have recently been reading the story of Joseph in Egypt...
When Joseph's brothers came to Egypt, during the famine, to ask for grain, he finally acknowledged who he was and invited them to return to their homeland, collect their father Jacob and come to live in Egypt for the rest of the famine.
God had called, Jacob...ISRAEL...it was the way in which he denoted JACOB...
his people would have, I read, been referred to as the people of Israel...the people of Jacob.
Over time Joseph who worked for the ruler of Egypt passed..and new rulers of Egypt took over..they saw Jacob's children as being in the way...and they tried to tire them and force them to stop having children and enlarging their family...the harder the Eyptians treated them...the more
Jacob's family continued to strive and live out their lives...

Logically, why should we be nervous over Iran since they have not initiated any attack towards any other country in over 200 years? And yes, the Persian Gulf War has been taken in consideration when making that statement. But no, I chose not to take the Iran hostage crisis in consideration.

There can be no greater waste of taxpayers money than a nuclear bomb.

We have thousands and can't use any of them.

They were called a deterrent but are they? There is no need for any country to ever attack us again. All they have to do is make a cell phone call, say the right words and the US will spend millions tracking down that "1 order of hot wings, and bomb them." I hear talk about an arms race if Iran gets a nuclear weapon, well Israel has a few yet no arms race.

For everyone here asking :"So why the push to bomb Iran?" Keep in mind that this is a good thing. Instead of waiting for an opportunity to condemn a country, we should push for more news like this. After all, Israel was pushing for "harsher" action, and for them, of all countries, to come forward with this info is great.

Remember folks, the goal is not condemnation, or to get the world on either side by showing how bad the "other: side is; the goal is Peace at all costs!!
