"WTF" host Marc Maron sat down with Laughspin Editor-In-Chief Dylan Gadino last week to discuss the creative process behind his upcoming book.
It has been a very good year for Maron, with his "WTF" podcast continuing to surge in popularity and a 10-episode season of a pilot based on his life coming soon to IFC. In the interview, the veteran stand-up comedian described his book as a collection of "memoir essays" and explained his writing process to Gadino:
"I'm not that disciplined enough to go, 'OK I'm going to look at that blank page,' but there were moments where panic came in and also just inspiration, where I was excited to write. So I let that happen."
Those familiar with Maron's work can expect to read the same intense honesty and self-reflection that defines his work on stage and in podcasting.
Check out the full interview in the video above to see Maron discuss his writing at length, as well as Twitter, podcasting and dealing with the increased mainstream media attention on his work.
