Bring out the tissues. "Captain America" is about to melt your heart.

Unbeknownst to his two young boys, this military dad has returned from Afghanistan just in time for a birthday celebration. And he's dressing up as Captain America for the occasion.

There's a knock on the door, and Cole and little brother Chase eagerly run to greet their surprise visitor. When Cole comes face to face with the superhero, he's dazzled the character has made a house call.

After playtime, mom announces it's time for breakfast. She suggests they all take off their masks before they sit at the table. Cole and Chase obediently take their seats, and when a mask-less Captain America walks into the room, the boys just stare and wave.

Caught by surprise, Cole slowly slides off his chair and presses himself against his father. The boy looks up one last time to make sure the moment is real. And in classic little-brother fashion, Chase follows suit and gingerly wraps himself around dad's leg.

Looks like dad's the real hero here.

This reminds me of watching Truth or Consquences when I was a chld and them bringing out the servicemen or women to surprise a loved one. Those were my favorite episodes. They made me cry back then and it is not any different now. Nope I take that back it is different now because I am older and I see it from a different perspective. Just as heart tugging as ever.

I think it is disrespectful to put a child through such an intense emotional "surprise." Can't people put themselves into the shoes of the child?

Evidently not enough to realize how vulnerable a sweet child is. That word "disrespectful" says it all, but may sail over some heads.

I think it was a sweet idea but he might have been a little too young to understand what was going on. But at the end of the day, his daddy came home and that's what's important.

I just gotta stop watching these videos. They make me cry every time. The look on that little boy's face when he looks up at his daddy made me lose it.

want the troops home vote Ron Paul bottom line. Obama and anybody else will eventually get us into Iran but it won't stop there then it will be Syria, Pakistan and maybe even North Korea. So if you think we should continually place our troops in harms way then please by all means vote for anybody but Ron Paul

Just so everyone knows stunts like this can scar the mind of child for life. My family did the same sort of stunt with me as a child during christmas, and everyone though it it was funny because I was so nervous and they laughed and laughed. I never again opened presents in front of people and to this day I refuse to celabrate Christmas or my birthday with anyone in my family because it is a nightmare for me emotionally. No one in my family knows this, they just think Im weird. I obsolutly hate receiving gifts from people it makes me feel physically sick when they do. I realize people do these sorts of jokes with their kids all the time but it can go wrong, very wrong. That mother laughing at her son for for being confused and not knowing what to do was horriable. She set him up to feel that way and then laughed at him hystarically. I personally think this video is potentially evidence of emtional child abuse.

I agree with you. It is disrespectful of a child to surprise them in a huge emotional way. I don't know why people can't understand this simple truth. To my way of looking at it, telling young children that there is a Santa Claus is disrespectful... heck, it is a LIE. A lie they tell their children. A prank, that when a child figures out that there is NO Santa, they have to rationalize why the people they trust have lied to them all these years.

My father told me, when we were sitting in the backyard with his buddies, that if I could sprinkle a little salt on a birds tail then they wouldn't be able to fly away. I was four or five. I ran around chasing birds for a while with a saltshaker in my hand. After a while I caught on, AND I never felt the same about my father EVER. He didn't respect me.
