When you were a kid, did you ever have an Εtch-a-Skətch for so long, it ran out of graphite?

You're running out, Wɨllʈard. Try some of Rick Santοrυm's n0rp stash. That'll put lead in your pencil...and your gas.

We don't even need new examples of Romney's hypocritical flip-flops; at this point its safe to assume Romney has held exactly opposite positions on every policy in the last 8 years.

What a bozo, so it figures Republicans will make him their nominee.

Well, for once, I agree with the Mittster.

Having REAL (not subsidized down) gas prices will drive innovation in auto fuel economy, reduce emissions, boost alternative energy investment, dramatically reduce cases of childhood asthma and cancer and make us think twice about attacking any country with the temerity to have our oil under their sand.

Think of what can be done for education, infrastructure improvements and jobs programs with just the 1 Solyndra worth of free tax dollars we give to the oil and gas companies every 4 days.

And all it will cost is the jobs of a few whiny millionaire oil execs, who as a small fraction of the population, had no problems with asking the other gigantic fraction to sacrifice life, limb and health for 70 years.

"Befitting his profile as a moderate Republican who cared about the environment, Governor Romney responded to price spikes by describing them as the natural result of global market pressures and by calling for increases in fuel efficiency—the same approach that he now derides Obama for taking as president."

As with Obama and mandates. He went after Hillary pretty hard on mandates saying that people don't need to be forced into health care plans because they want coverage, cost was the problem and mandates did nothing to reduce cost. At least so he argued in order to have something to contrast against Hillary (which of course made the objection cynical). Now Obama loves mandates and is going to the mat for them in the S. Court.

I never thought Obama was a "cause" candidate, only an opportunistic one, after voting for him I wasn't really surprised or disappointed by him being all over the map in policy: a good dose of W here, a little dash of Hillary there, etc.

Every politician has been for something before being against it, unless they were against it before being for it. It all depends on the polls and the unemployment rate.

Flashback of the Day

"I'm very much in favor of people recognizing that these high gasoline prices are probably here to stay."

-- Mitt Romney, quoted by the New Republic in 2006.

In read that quote and take it this way: people understand that high prices are here to stay and Romney thinks that they should understand that. The quote doesn't mean he endorses high prices - the Sec. of Energy gave a good example of how to express that view. Romney isn't a graceful speaker so we should get ready for a lot of these types of quotes. They won't do him any good, that's for sure.

Listening to Romney is like chewing on ice with the same unmistakeable piercing pain to the brain. (No, Virginia, Obama did not plot to take away your incandescent light bulbs -- that was George W. Bush and an overwhelmingly bi-partisan vote in Congress.)

As pertains to rising gas prices, no series of Republican babbling points would be complete without a mention of the Keystone Pipeline. They ALL do it and are successful because no one in their adoring audiences seem to have the faintest idea of what a Trojan Horse this represents to American consumers (not to mention what a threat it is to the environment -- but we won't go there because, unless it's in their own backyard, Republicans don't seem to care about that.)

Here's the Readers Digest version of Keystone: by bypassing existing refineries in the Midwest (where oil prices are much lower than on the coasts), the Keystone Pipeline will choke supply and send dirty oil directly to the Gulf where it will be refined and EXPORTED. Questions?

We are in a global recession, not just the U.S. and we are so much better off than most countries out there. His statements back up the fact that NO President is responsible for the price of gas.

Another flip flop rises to the surface. Anyone surprised??
By the end of the day Romney's camp will come out and say the Governor was misquoted or it was taken out of context.

Last night on Rachel Maddow's show she called Romney out on his lies. He lies about everything in the world. People whjo will lie when the truth would serve them better are pathological liars and I believe him to be one. Call it flip flop if you like but in reality. it's lie after lie because of his denying what he just lied about.
